“I am writing to offer a professional recommendation for Dr. Howard Lewis. I just completed one of my final courses in my Organization Learning Performance and Change (OLPC) graduate program at Coloardo State University (CSU), where we learn High Impact, On Demand (HI-OD) learning solutions. I will be earning my Masters in Education (M.Ed.) degree soon and I keep wavering between stopping there or continuing on to a doctorate degree program. My next class will be my last class and it's a practicum, so that means the course I just completed with Howard was probably my very last traditional, lecture-style course in this program. The professional experience Howard brought to our lessons, the personalized feedback he gave to each of us, and the carefully crafted learning environment Howard created meant more to me than just the surface-level classwork. I'm honestly still reflecting on how he did it because this guy is like a learning and teaching master. I know he gave me VERY detailed feedback on each of my assignments - sometimes his feedback was nearly as long as my assignment! It was like having an advanced conversation learning deeper and deeper every step of the way. You know how we all have those memorable teachers from our childhood? You know - that teacher who helped shape your worldview or your life path? It's like Howard did that for me as an adult. I'm a lady in my 50s now leaning toward going onto that doctorate degree program, because Howard's interaction with me gave me the nudge. He didn't even say, "you should go for it." He was just there right when I needed someone to be there to create the environment I needed for my own learning. My post is completely unsolicited, and Howard probably doesn't even know I have written it here. I'm not really sure what Howard does in his day job, but whatever it is - I felt like I should tell people - you should hire his service to do it! I'm confident Howard is out in the world learning and teaching and helping others to learn and teach, in ways they don't even realize are happening. Magical skills I tell you!”
