As a master's student in the Instructional Design & Technology Department at Bloomsburg / Commonwealth University, you get some serious training in using the ADDIE model...and then some. Here is the PDF of my ADDIE concept project for a 10 minute eLearning on spaced practice. It includes all phases of the ADDIE model: 1. ANALYSIS: of learners, tasks & context 2. DESIGN: of a 10 minute micro eLearning, including a detailed outline of the events of instruction (Gagne's 9 events) and learner motivation (ARCS) 3. DEVELOPMENT: a written storyboard plus a visual mockup in Figma 4. IMPLEMENTATION & EVALUATION: a detailed plan - and budget - of the project, and how the eLearning would be implemented and evaluated. Spaced practice is the most effective study technique there is. It requires more upfront work than other more typical strategies (re-reading, reviewing, cramming). But it is much better at combatting the forgetting curve. Meaning: you remember what you learn for the long-term. And you don't have to waste time re-learning stuff. I chose spaced practice as my topic because it's SUCH an effective learning technique. Yes, the upfront effort is higher, but retention is way higher and you don't have to waste time re-learning info. And learners who apply spaced repetition techniques properly have excellent grades. Plus they have time to have a life outside of school.

The results are in, and they reveal how the eLearning community is tackling the challenge of academic integrity while respecting learner privacy!   A majority of 50% trust secure browsers & controls as the top safeguard, while 24% rely on AI proctoring with safeguards to maintain fairness. When you design eLearning scenarios, remember that real-world decisions aren’t always “right” or “wrong.” Instead, try to present options that are okay, good, better, and best. This approach will help your learners understand the differences and potential outcomes between the decision choices. Let them explore a bit. The learning will get better.

I'm still amazed how often “interactive and engaging” just means “build it in Articulate Storyline.” It’s a slide tool with triggers. Accessibility takes workarounds, updates are clunky, and suddenly we’ve spent weeks producing something that’s hard to revise and easy to outgrow.
