Carlos Nouche shared thisMost people show up to work like it is a warmup. No plan. No targets. Just reacting. But the best performers treat their workday like athletic training: structured, intentional, and non-negotiable. Recently, in a podcast episode with Chris Faklaris, we dug into: ✅ Why "busy" is not the same as productive ✅ How to identify and protect your daily big rocks ✅ Using competition as a culture tool, not a pressure tactic ✅ Why speed of implementation separates top performers If you lead a team or carry a number, this one will challenge how you show up each day. #The1PercentEdge #LinkedInTopVoice #SalesLeadership #CompetitiveCulture #DisciplineWins #HighPerformanceYour Workday Is Not a Warmup. Carlos Nouche shared thisIn a world obsessed with AI, automation, and efficiency... We are losing something critical. The ability to build genuine human relationships. The question is... Are you focused on closing transactions or creating raving fans? This week on The 1% Edge Podcast, I sat down with Larry Long Jr, a keynote speaker and communicator who has built his entire career on the power of authentic connection. In this episode, we cover: · Why genuine relationships are the biggest competitive advantage in business today · How the best sales professionals lead with service, not selling · What it actually takes to create raving fans instead of one-time customers · Why the little things in relationship building lead to the biggest outcomes · How corporate culture either reinforces or kills authentic connection · Why younger generations are struggling with interpersonal skills and what leaders can do about it · How to use LinkedIn as a relationship-building platform, not just a broadcasting tool Larry's energy and mission are contagious. His perspective cuts through the noise: even in an AI-driven world, people still buy from people they trust. "It's about creating raving fans." "Sales is service." "Show me that you know me." Carlos Nouche shared thisMost sales teams are drowning in activity. More calls. More emails. More CRM updates. But activity alone does not create better sellers. The reps who consistently outperform are usually doing something different: ✅ Listening more carefully ✅ Documenting buyer language, not just CRM fields ✅ Staying curious instead of rushing to objection handling ✅ Walking away from bad deals earlier ✅ Reviewing their own calls and learning from mistakes The real edge in sales is not looking busy. It is pattern recognition. The ability to understand what buyers are actually saying, what they care about, and what signals matter most. That is what separates productive reps from performative ones. #The1PercentEdge #valueselling #LinkedInTopVoice #SalesLeadership #B2BSales #SalesPerformance

Carlos Nouche shared this“Most companies talk about culture. Very few actually build one.” In this episode of The 1% Edge podcast, I sit down with sales leader Todd Priest to unpack what truly creates trust, accountability, and high performance inside modern sales organizations. Todd shares lessons from leading startups, scale-ups, and Fortune 15 companies, including how strong cultures are built through transparency, communication, execution, and authentic leadership. We also dive into how AI is changing the workplace, why human connection matters more than ever, and how leaders can create environments where teams genuinely want to perform at their best. Some of the biggest takeaways from this conversation: • Trust is the foundation of every high-performing culture • Transparency and communication create alignment and buy-in • Recognition and celebrating wins build momentum across teams • AI should enhance human connection, not replace it • Consistent execution is the daily habit that drives long-term success A few standout moments from Todd: “Trust builds a vibrant, results-driven culture.” “Transparency and communication are core to trust.” “AI is an enabler to the human race; it’s about how we choose to embrace it.” Todd also shares his personal 1% Edge, daily execution, continuous learning, and investing in authentic relationships to become a stronger leader over time. If you lead teams, work in sales, build culture, or want to improve organizational performance, this conversation is packed with practical leadership insights you can apply immediately. Carlos Nouche shared this“Most sales enablement programs fail for one reason.” That statement stopped me in my tracks during my conversation with Christina Brady, CEO and co-founder of Luster. Most enablement programs are reactive. Too many organizations are: - guessing at skill gaps - pushing generic training - measuring activity instead of proficiency The best organizations are becoming predictive. In this episode of The 1% Edge podcast, Christina and I discuss how AI-powered diagnostics and predictive technology are transforming the future of sales enablement, coaching, and performance improvement. We discuss: • Why traditional enablement creates “constant fire drills” • How AI and predictive diagnostics uncover hidden skill gaps • Why most sales training fails to create lasting behavior change • The future of data-driven coaching and performance improvement • How organizations can prevent revenue loss before it happens Some standout moments from the conversation: - “Traditional enablement feels like a lot of fire drills.” - “Missing a real true diagnostic is a huge issue.” - “We can see the future in sales.” One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is that organizations don’t have a training problem; they have a visibility problem. If leaders can’t accurately identify where teams struggle, they waste time, resources, and revenue on solutions that never address the real issue. If you lead sales teams, enablement initiatives, or revenue organizations, this episode of The 1% Edge podcast delivers practical insights to help your people perform at a higher level and get their 1% edge. What’s the biggest issue you see with traditional sales enablement today? Carlos Nouche shared thisCulture is not what you put on the careers page. It is what your team protects when leadership is not in the room. It shows up in: • What gets tolerated • How people communicate under pressure • Whether accountability actually exists • How teams handle mistakes, conflict, and wins A lot of companies talk about being “people-first.” Far fewer build an environment where people can perform at a high level consistently. Because real culture is not built through slogans. It is built through standards, clarity, trust, and leadership behavior repeated over time. The best cultures are not soft. They are aligned. That is what creates trust. And trust is what allows performance to scale. Here is how to build a people-first culture that actually drives performance, not just good vibes. #The1PercentEdge #LinkedInTopVoice #Leadership #PeopleFirst #CompanyCulture #TeamBuilding

Carlos Nouche shared thisWhat separates leaders who consistently make great decisions from those who stay stuck reacting? It often comes down to one thing: the ability to recognize patterns others miss. In this episode of The 1% Edge podcast, I sit down with Stephen King (SJ), author, former CEO, and leadership expert, to discuss how pattern recognition, wisdom, and cultural alignment shape better business decisions and stronger leadership. SJ shares his journey from corporate leadership into deeper studies around human behavior, decision-making, and what he calls “The Inner Compass.” We discuss: • How leaders can train themselves to recognize patterns others overlook • The four-step process for building the muscle of pattern reading • Why company culture determines whether innovation succeeds or fails • The importance of hiring for cultural fit, not just credentials • Why wisdom matters more now than ever in leadership and business • How small observations often reveal the biggest strategic insights • The connection between personal growth and business performance Some standout moments from the conversation: “Patterns others miss can be trained.” “The secret was the ability to see patterns.” “Wisdom is more important now than ever.” One of my favorite parts of this conversation was hearing how SJ combines executive leadership experience with deep personal development work to help others strengthen their own decision-making process and get their 1% edge. If you lead teams, make high-stakes decisions, or want to sharpen your awareness of business and life, this episode delivers practical insight you can apply immediately. Carlos Nouche shared thisWhat if getting just 1% better every day could completely transform your leadership, relationships, and business culture? In this episode of The 1% Edge podcast, I sit down with Jarrod Lopiccolo to discuss the power of incremental improvement, human connection, curiosity, and kindness in a world increasingly shaped by AI and digital communication. Jarrod shares powerful insights on leadership, feedback, empathy, and how meaningful relationships remain one of the greatest competitive advantages in business and life. Key insights from this episode: • Why striving for 1% improvement compounds into extraordinary growth • The difference between being “nice” and being truly kind • How curiosity creates deeper human connection • Why leaders must model the behaviors they expect from others • The importance of creating safe environments for honest feedback • How empathy improves leadership and team performance • Why toxic behavior should never be tolerated in a healthy culture • The growing importance of authentic connection in an AI-driven world Standout moments: 💬 “You can expect more.” 💬 “Life is a game.” 💬 “Lead with kindness.” Jarrod also shares his perspective on personal growth, leadership accountability, and the butterfly effect our actions can have on the people around us. Carlos Nouche liked thisCarlos Nouche liked thisAs we begin a new week, I'd like to share something that has been on my mind. Many of us spend years trying to become enough. We tell ourselves that when we achieve a little more, know a little more, earn a little more, or finally have everything figured out, then we'll feel worthy, confident, or complete. I've learned that life doesn't work that way. The truth is, there is no future version of you that is somehow more deserving of love, belonging, or purpose than the person you are today. What changes over time is not your worth. What changes is your willingness to recognize it. When we stop measuring ourselves against who we think we should be, we create space to appreciate who we already are. We begin to bring more authenticity into our conversations, more presence into our relationships, and more courage into the choices we make. Some of the most important breakthroughs in my life didn't come from becoming someone different. They came from accepting myself more fully and trusting what was already there. As you move through this wek, I invite you to consider a different possibility. What if you don't need to prove anything? What if you don't need to earn your value? What if the next step forward begins with recognizing that you are already enough? That simple shift has the power to change far more than you might imagine. Wishing you a week filled with purpose, connection, and the freedom to be fully yourself.

Carlos Nouche liked thisCarlos Nouche liked thisFor 25 years I've taught prospecting. The last few weeks I've been doing it myself, at scale, inside Claude. I built two outbound motions running entirely on Apollo.io's MCP connector, which puts the whole stack in one place. The data and execution meet me inside the AI I already use every day, and the friction of tab-switching is gone. Tier 1 targets ex-Salesforce VPs of Sales, people I have warm context with from training their old teams. Tier 2 is brand new. It's manufacturing-specific, targeting VPs and Directors of Sales at industrial accounts where I have zero existing relationships. Pure cold outbound. The actual numbers, real and current: - TIER 1: 14.3% reply rate across 35 delivered contacts, with one demo booked in the first wave (industry cold-to-meeting average is 0.5-1.5%, mine is closer to 3%) - TIER 2 (eight days in): 20% open rate, 18% click rate, 54 contacts already worked through the sequence. Every morning the routine is the same. I open Claude, describe the next prospects I want to work, and Apollo's MCP pulls their data, verified emails, and recent triggers, then pushes them straight into the right sequence. The whole motion takes me about 20 minutes a day. I am not bringing up Apollo because they're a sponsor. I'm bringing up Apollo because the sequence that built these numbers runs through their MCP into Claude. The tool meets me where I already work instead of asking me to come to it. This is what AI as leverage, not a crutch, actually looks like. The framework still matters more than the tool, but when the tool shows up inside the AI you already use, the friction disappears and the numbers start to compound. Practicing the craft beats teaching the craft. Doing both is even better. #MakeItHappen

You don't need to replicate the best rep, you need to replicate the best of all your reps. Even the best reps have gaps in their capabilities. Now that you can see what every seller is doing across the entire sales process, why settle for trying to replicate a single great seller. Instead, identify which sellers to great things and aggregate that into an ideal seller profile. Once you have that start moving all your sellers to match that profile, improving every seller in your organization, including your best reps. #InnovativeRevenueLeader #SalesLeadership #AIinSales #RevOps #Enablement #CRO

There's a concept that lives at the center of enterprise software sales. Control. Sellers are trained to control the process. Control the conversation. Control the timeline. Control the frame. Champion building. Multi-threading. Access to power. Compelling events. CRMs to track your every move. Digital sales rooms to monitor your behavior. Sales engagement platforms to stay top of mind. Conversational intelligence to analyze every word. Sellers are told to stay in control to keep buyers from meandering off the path. Move you forward. Keep you engaged. Get you to the finish line before EOQ. Meanwhile, buyers hold all the cards that actually matter. The budget. The signature. The option to pause. The ability to walk away. Never forget, when you're buying enterprise tech, you're in charge. Nothing wrong with a good guide, but remember who's paying for the trip. And be sure to carry your own map and compass. Your money. Your decision. Vendors have a process, a playbook, and a tech stack to match. Do you?

Top Enterprise Sellers teach executives something new about their business and tie it directly to their top priorities. Here is a simple framework you can use to do this: 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 You are trying to achieve x [insert goals/outcomes], but what’s getting in the way (that you may not be aware of) is y [insert the problem they are facing, the root cause of the problem, and the pain it’s causing]. We can help you solve for y with this solution/approach [insert how your solution uniquely solves y without talking about your products], which will help enable you deliver x [insert their goals/outcomes]. The key is teach them something that they may not be aware of. You typically get this from talking to ground level employees, managers, or even becoming a customer and going through the full customer experience. For example, when I had Herbalife as an account, I became a distributor to experience what it was like and go through their partner onboarding process. This one paragraph answers: Why change? Why now? Why you? In a way that's about them, not you. Here's an example if you sell a CRM: "You are trying to grow revenue by 15%, but what’s putting that goal at risk is that your current opportunity win rate is only 20%, primarily due to AE’s not engaging directly with power, bringing in their leadership into large deals, and selling as a team. We can help improve your win rate by 33% by improving deal visibility, empowering team selling, and using AI to score and predict which deals will close within your CRM, enabling you to fill critical gaps in your team’s deals and hit your growth target of 15%." All big deals need executive support. And executives need simple, clear, concise messaging on why partnering with you will help them succeed. You can use this exact framework for: 1. Any deals which are stuck at a lower level 2. Developing a POV for your Tier 1 accounts 3. Your core industry 4. Your primary buyer (CRO, CIO, CMO, etc.) Write it out, practice it, and take it to your customers. Thank me later.

Sales teams often struggle with inconsistent performance because traditional selling methods leave trust on the table and processes unstructured. The blog tackles this issue by showing how a well-defined selling system can create predictable, high-impact results. Key tips include adopting upfront contracts to set clear expectations; leveraging diagnosis over a shotgun pitch to uncover genuine pain points; and tracking daily prospecting activities with a "cookbook" approach that distinguishes leading from lagging indicators. This structured method shifts focus from winging it to mastering a disciplined, psychology-based sales process. Your weekly sales power move: Buyers are too smart for pushy tactics now. They can feel it the second a rep starts forcing the conversation… and they’re out. Here’s what works today—especially for SMB teams: ➞ Listen like you’re trying to understand, not respond. ➞ Look for the real problem they’re trying to solve. ➞ Get honest about whether you’re the right solution. ➞ Keep the conversation human, not scripted. ➞ And yes—still ask for the deal with confidence. Modern selling isn’t about pressure. It’s about clarity, connection, and helping someone make the right decision. Your team doesn’t need more pitch training. They need better conversations. Cheers! #Sales #SalesLeadership #SalesStrategy #SMB #RevenueGrowth

Sellers don't need more “touches.” They need the next right step. SRS assigns that step based on readiness score and persona so your messaging stays relevant. #SellerReadinessSystem #LeadQualification #SalesAutomation #PipelineManagement #BusinessBroker https://lnkd.in/eQxFheNQ

Enterprise salespeople are often focused on the wrong competitor! They believe the companies they usually see in the marketplace, and may lose deals to, are their primary competitors. WRONG! The competitor that the high-performing sales pro must prepare for is "do nothing" or remain with the status quo. I discuss this in the attached article. I welcome your comments and questions. You can find additional sales tips and techniques in my blog at https://lnkd.in/gr97yqug or in my award-winning books.
