Chelsea says, “I was bit by the African bug. I’m proud to be involved with a program that supports education for African girls. Empowering these women with essentials like sanitary hygiene products has such a chain effect of positive results. EDUCATION IS POWER, and the fact that I can help these amazing women stay in school and provide for their family is the best feeling in the world! The land, the people, and the whole experience have changed my life and will stay with me forever. I will 100 percent go back to Africa and I simply can’t wait!”

    Being in Peru was like opening a textbook full of history, nature, spiritual enlightenment, and culture. I wanted to learn and soak up everything it had to offer. Along with my missionary work visiting schools and the children in the Andes Mountains, and passing out “U” by Kotex products to the young women, I also learned so much about myself. From the minute I stepped off the plane, I felt as if I was not only transported to another country outside of my New York address, I was in a wondrous…

    Being in Peru was like opening a textbook full of history, nature, spiritual enlightenment, and culture. I wanted to learn and soak up everything it had to offer. Along with my missionary work visiting schools and the children in the Andes Mountains, and passing out “U” by Kotex products to the young women, I also learned so much about myself. From the minute I stepped off the plane, I felt as if I was not only transported to another country outside of my New York address, I was in a wondrous new world altogether. Instead of yellow taxicabs, pretzel cart stations, skyscrapers, and people in a hurry, I was observing endless mountain ranges, and native men and women all dressed in magnificently textured and vibrant clothing. Peru was truly a wake up call to your five senses; a wonderland full of beauty and a psychedelic combination of nature, culture, and enlightenment.

    On June 27th, 2011, Chelsea Krost embarked on a journey into Joplin, Missouri for CBS and Fox News affiliates. Chelsea chronicled the aftermath of the tornadoes that devastated America’s heartland in 2011, interviewing the people who lived to tell of their harrowing experiences and shedding light on the rebuilding process.

    On June 27th, 2011, Chelsea Krost embarked on a journey into Joplin, Missouri for CBS and Fox News affiliates. Chelsea chronicled the aftermath of the tornadoes that devastated America’s heartland in 2011, interviewing the people who lived to tell of their harrowing experiences and shedding light on the rebuilding process.

    The American Red Cross created partnership with Chelsea in Joplin where she experienced the day in the life of a volunteer patrolling in a Red Cross vehicle with a camera in hand. Chelsea stated, “I have seen the needs of people in impoverished countries during my missionary trips to Africa and Peru, now it is important for me to continue to bring the devastation in Joplin to the forefront of America’s consciousness so that we don’t forget about these people in dire need and continue to help.” She attended several of the local middle schools speak to the young students who had lost their homes, loved ones, and were still shaken from the storm. Chelsea’s goal was to lift the student’s spirits and share her book with everyone for a source of comfort.

    Other rescue efforts featured included Freeman Health Systems who took on an additional 500 patient overflow from St. John’s Hospital, which was destroyed in the tornado. Chelsea interviewed the doctors who performed twenty-two life saving surgeries that night.
    Chelsea also attended the Joplin’s Humane Society adopt-a-thon where over 1200 animals misplaced by the storm.

They will also be entertained with live music and other performances during a 90-minute show…

    On May 15th join “1,000 Kids with Positively Ernie” at Columbia University’s Lerner Hall for an exciting youthful program of live entertainment and real positive messages!
    1,000 inner-city middle school students from New York will hear from top personalities and experts about the value of education, good health, career choices, social media, positive living and how to make the world a better place. They will also be entertained with live music and other performances during a 90-minute show from 11am to 1pm. Students will also receive a free gift bag filled with helpful books and other information.
    The unique program will be hosted by New York’s top Emmy award winning TV news anchor Ernie Anastos. As a dynamic journalist and author of a popular children’s career book, Ernie encourages young people to “Dream Big.” He speaks with great enthusiasm at numerous New York City schools, including New Jersey and Connecticut. It’s part of a unique literacy program sponsored by St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters which also provides numerous services to needy families serving more than 1.5 million meals a year in New York.
    Coverage of “1,000 Kids with Positively Ernie” will include television, radio, newspapers and the Internet throughout the New York area.
