Day 11 of 28 Days: Celebrating Black Women in Business Bernadette Hamilton-Reidis the CEO of Sankofa Bookkeeping Financial & Consulting is a values-driven financial literacy and bookkeeping firm dedicated to supporting Blak women founders as they navigate entrepreneurship with clarity and confidence. Through tailored financial literacy training and hands-on bookkeeping support, Sankofa helps founders break free from financial confusion and build sustainable, scalable businesses. Their services include bookkeeping using Excel spreadsheets and accounting software such as QuickBooks, meeting founders where they are and growing with them. Sankofa’s work is deeply rooted in equity. With a focus on start-ups and small to medium-sized businesses, especially first-generation founders, they are equipping Blak women with the tools needed to unlock funding, organize finances, and build long-term stability. This is more than bookkeeping. It’s about dismantling systemic economic barriers. It’s about ownership, legacy, and economic freedom. We’re proud to celebrate Sankofa Bookkeeping & Financial Consulting as part of this year’s 28 Days: Celebrating Black Women in Business series. Bernadette is an amazing human in every possible way! Great post ❤️
I adore Bernadette and have had the pleasure of working with her on both a board and a committee. She is a true powerhouse and an absolute delight to work with. Her leadership makes a real difference. She was a show-stopper at last year’s International Women’s Day panel—so inspiring. She is intentional about driving change and building community. So great to see this post about her awesomeness!
