Blynk AI agent analyzes messages, writes code to decode it, tests this code, and creates datamodel (datastreams, metadata, events) if needed 3. Decoder is ready to accept messages. Data Converters in Blynk have always handled this. You write a JavaScript function that translates the incoming payload into something the platform understands. Works great for LoRaWAN devices relaying through network servers, legacy sensors with proprietary formats, third-party hardware you can't reflash. The problem was the JavaScript part. The field engineer who knows exactly what the device sends often isn't the one who can write a parsing script. So we added AI to the converter workflow. Now you can: 1. Create a new HTTP Data Converter 2. Point your device at the endpoint 3. Send a few messages 4. The AI analyzes the actual payload and generates the JavaScript automatically Field parsing, data type handling, datastream mapping. Review the code, confirm it, done. There's also an AI chat built into every converter. Payload format changed? "Add a battery voltage field from the payload." Need to fix something? The "Fix with AI" button opens with your current code and the error context already loaded. The shift: from "look up the API and write JavaScript" to "send data and review what gets generated." Pavlo Bayborodin shared thisEven as an avid AI user, I'm a bit skeptical about MCP servers,... but when I first used Blynk MCP for a client's demo I realized the full potential of it as a productivity tool. Here is what I did: First, I connected Blynk MCP to #VSCode (with PlatformIO Labs extension). then told the AI to scan my firmware code and configure the project in Blynk.Console. In about a minute, the project was fully set up: all the needed datastreams, events, and other settings, ready to go My rough estimate is that it saved me ~30 minutes compared to doing it all manually. And that's just one workflow. It's a v1 of MCP, with limited tools, but stay tuned! v2 is already in the making!Pavlo Bayborodin shared this20 minutes of clicking through IoT configuration screens. Or one sentence. We shipped a remote MCP server for the Blynk IoT platform. It connects to Claude Code, VS Code, Cursor, and anything else that speaks MCP. Pavlo Bayborodin liked thisPavlo Bayborodin liked thisI spend a lot of time on predictive maintenance and monitoring in HVACR these days, and the hard part is often just agreeing on what the words mean. I'll be on a call where everyone agrees they want predictive maintenance, and twenty minutes in it turns out we're describing three different things. One person means "tell me when something crosses a threshold." Another means "tell me how many weeks I have left on this compressor." A third means "tell me what's wrong and which part to put on the truck." Those are three different products. They need three different amounts of data, and only one of them works from the first day a unit is connected. None of them is the wrong thing to want, but blurring them together is part of why this category has a bit of a credibility problem in our industry. People bought one level, expected another, and the disappointment gets remembered as "predictive maintenance didn't work." Mark Gates took a run at explaining it in the simplest terms: the four levels, the question each one actually answers, and what has to be in place before each one becomes possible. I will share the link in comments. I'm curious whether those of you with more years in HVAC service run into the same confusion. Not because the contractor did a bad job. Because scheduled maintenance has a blind spot most operators don't know about. It checks the system on a calendar. But equipment doesn't fail on a calendar. A slow leak or a compressor problem can start the week after a visit and have months to turn into an emergency, completely invisible until the next scheduled check. So is the fix more frequent visits? More sensors? Neither, on its own. Why did automotive UX shift from prioritizing driver safety to competing for the largest screen? This is a question drivers (including myself) ask regularly, and yet the industry continues to keep moving forward with increasing screen real estate. While oversized screens may look impressive in showrooms, they fundamentally compromise the driving experience by forcing drivers to divert attention from the road. A driver-centric interface eliminates the need to look away. My concept tackles this challenge based on advanced HUD tech and holographic UI overlays, proving that compelling visual design doesn't have to come at the cost of safety. I explored real-world scenarios where UI can provide real time assistance without overwhelming the driver such as: • Autonomous driving status visibility • Obstacle detection and pothole/puddle warnings • Student driving mode with adaptive guidance • Real-time weather updates • Pedestrian and crosswalk detection • Parallel parking assistance and parking sign reader (this one is for my CA drivers iykyk) I designed this concept with different driver needs in mind, whether you’re a new driver, a track enthusiast, doing your daily commute, or road tripping. Great UX isn't about cramming features onto the biggest screen, it's about serving the right information at the right time. This project reinforces my core design philosophy: human-centered interactions that balance individual needs with scalable systems thinking, especially where safety and clarity are of the highest importance. UX Field Report: Large EREV in the Chinese Desert Testing a new large-format EREV from a competitor in Northwest China surfaced some unexpected findings. Standard hardware fell short in places: seatbelts in rows two and three were difficult to operate and uncomfortably tight. The horn required excessive force, and HMI air vent controls added unnecessary friction during pre-conditioning in extreme heat. Positives worth noting: boot times and voice assistant performance under extreme temperatures were both impressive. The EREV powertrain was harder to overlook. Departing with 500 km of calculated range, I was nearly stranded at 140 km — the range extender activated too late and ran loudly for over 90 minutes. At 5.2+ metres, the absence of rear-wheel steering made daily manoeuvring unnecessarily demanding. “China Speed” is reshaping the industry — though occasionally at the cost of the iterative refinement that separates sometimes good products from great ones.
