We often talk about how AI can help us reclaim time in the workday. But its potential extends to something more profound. I’m proud to share that Microsoft is partnering with a number of Frontier Firms that are pioneering change in the health, climate, quantum, and energy sectors.   Our left-to-right vision for AI’s application in science strategy, from modeling through scalable tools to tangible outcomes, is helping our customers tackle global challenges for the greater good. Here are just a few examples of their cutting-edge, generative AI solutions and collaborations:    🔬 Health & Diagnostics: With AI as their assistant, clinicians are able to analyze large, unstructured datasets to more effectively detect diseases and tailor treatments for patients. PadChest-GR, for example, helps radiologists interpret images more accurately and train AI models that learn alongside scientists. 🧪 Scientific Discovery Platforms: AI-supported systems can now act as research teammates to scientists, helping accelerate research and simulate natural processes at an unprecedented scale and pace. Tools like BioEmu-1, which helps decode protein structures, and MatterGen, which supports the development of new materials, are offering new, powerful ways to investigate and innovate. 🌍 Earth & Environment: AI is helping scientists better understand our planet’s complex systems. For example, Avanade’s Intelligent Garden app uses sensors to monitor data like moisture, air quality, and growth patterns, and create health reports.   This article is an awe-inspiring reminder that the power of AI is immense. Last week, we released the 2025 Work Trend Index—and the response has been incredible. I’ve loved hearing from customers and partners about how the data is sparking real conversations around the rise of the Frontier Firm—organizations that are reimagining work with AI at the core.   This year’s report marks a turning point: 82% of leaders say 2024 is a pivotal year to rethink strategy and operations, and 81% expect AI agents to be deeply integrated into workflows within the next 12 to 18 months. The best CMOs are efficient and bold. “If we drive efficiency in the attributable, we earn the right to experiment in the un-attributable.” SCREAM IT FROM THE BACK. I had the opportunity to listen in on a panel discussion between Ray Rike, 🌱 Allison Munro, and Jon Miller, who discussed research from 323 companies around budgeting and spend at Pavilion's CMO Summit. And if you are in a room with Allison and Jon, you listen. And the data was loud and clear: Marketing budgets are up. Not down. Not flat but up by 1% of revenue on average and almost 10% in absolute dollars. Yes, even in this “do more with less” era. Growth = Budget >>> The faster you grow, the more budget you get. Companies growing over 30%? Median marketing budget is 15% of revenue. (That’s double the average.) People vs Programs vs AI >>> Budgets are shifting from people to programs. And AI is doubling its share of spend, from 4% to 8% YOY. AI isn’t a line item. It’s a headcount replacement. Events are making a comeback. As ACV increases, event spend also rises. Demand gen spend goes down. Why? Because no one attributes brand until it's lost. Want to protect brand? Get headcount? Increase programs? Then model your budget, benchmark it, and tell the story before the CFO asks.

"If you can invest in emerging #GenAI innovations, support those that make #inclusion a non-negotiable part of design. Look for early-stage applications and ask for the organization’s policies about responsible design. You should have explicit conversations with a potential grantee with an eye toward aligning on a set of design principles that suits all parties. Support those who are identifying and breaking barriers. For just one quick example, consider the recently developed robotic sensor that incorporates artificial intelligence techniques to read braille about twice as fast as most people can. This would help people with disabilities related to sight contribute more easily in large environments by helping people who don’t have challenges with sight read what’s written in braille. And personally? First, encourage discourse. Three years ago, Laurie wrote in the Harvard Business Review about how important it is to make it safe for employees to disclose their disabilities at work (in part by following the example of leaders who disclose their own challenges). The safer people feel about letting their colleagues and bosses know about their challenges, the more leaders will understand what’s needed to help." https://lnkd.in/ggeXEXSw
