Amy Sell, PMP shared thisHave you ever wondered what difficult conversations people most want to practice... in private? Our Role Play feature has been live now for more than a year and we have some terrific data to answer that very question. It turns out that when given a safe, private space to practice, learners gravitate toward some very real and very relatable moments at work (our top two have to do with prioritization and deadlines). Big thanks to Stephanie Evans and Marrion M. who were the data wizards and writers behind this special report. Amy Sell, PMP shared thisWhat if nursing students could practice realistic clinical conversations before ever meeting with a real patient? As nursing roles grow 5% through 2034, preparing confident nurses matters more than ever. Clinical readiness goes beyond exams and requires strong communication, critical thinking, and decision making skills. That’s where AI-powered role play can make a meaningful difference. Our team built realistic scenarios that give nursing students and early career professionals a safe, conversational space to practice tough conversations from patient communication to clinical judgment before they are thrown into a hospital or doctor’s office. Learners can practice, make mistakes, reflect, and try again, building confidence without risk. 👉 You can give it a try by clicking on this link where you can practice de-escalating an upset patient: https://lnkd.in/ewFYNtD3 Linkedin Learning subscribers can see all Heathcare Role Play scenarios here: https://lnkd.in/eZyKNExG We would love to hear what resonates and where you think this kind of practice could be most valuable in healthcare education! #HealthcareEducation #NursingEducation #HealthcareWorkforce #FutureOfHealthcare #linkedinlearning #alwaysbelearning #NursingStudents #ClinicalTraining #Upskilling #humanskillsRole play: De-escalating an Upset Patient for Healthcare WorkersRole play: De-escalating an Upset Patient for Healthcare Workers

Amy Sell, PMP shared thisIf you’re unemployed and job searching, should you turn on the green #OpenToWork banner? 🤔 👉 LinkedIn data says yes. I get asked this a lot, so I loved a recent post from Andrew that dug into the numbers. After reviewing the data, job seekers using the Open to Work banner received more outreach from both recruiters and people in their network. If you’re actively looking for a job, don’t hide it from your network. #OpenToWork #JobSearch #CareerAdviceAmy Sell, PMP shared thisShould you mention that you're unemployed in your LinkedIn headline? Honestly, I don't think you need to mention that you're looking for work or "exploring new opportunities" in your headline. Let the "Open to Work" banner do the heavy lifting on your profile. Instead, use your headline to tell prospective employers and others who you are and what you do (or want to do). 🚫 Don't say, "Sale professional looking for new opportunities in AI," for example. ✅ Showcase what you do by saying something like, "Sales Professional | AI GTM & Revenue Strategy | Translating AI into Business Results." While similar, the latter option does something very important by saying you are the person who can do this work. The former says you're looking to become that person. Amy Sell, PMP shared thisHello InfoSec friends! LinkedIn is hiring for several roles that you can learn more about by checking out the post 👇Amy Sell, PMP shared thisOur ProdSec team recently modernized how LinkedIn does Static Application Security Testing (SAST), and the journey was about far more than adopting new tools. Read about it here: https://lnkd.in/dgJnT2VY At LinkedIn’s scale, we scan millions of lines of code across tens of thousands of repositories. Our goal was clear: find security issues early without slowing developers down. To get there, we rebuilt our SAST pipeline from the ground up on GitHub Actions, using CodeQL and Semgrep, and designed it around a few core principles: * Developer first security that stays out of the way * Extensibility and self-service for teams to add rules and integrations * Resilience and graceful failure at massive scale * Deep observability and metrics to drive data-backed decisions We moved away from fragmented, bespoke scanners and into a unified, centrally managed pipeline. We added dynamic rule management, SARIF enrichment, end-to-end metrics, drift management across repositories, and enforcement guardrails that block insecure code with kill switches and fail safes to protect developer velocity. The result is a true “shift left” capability: fast, reliable, actionable security feedback directly in pull requests, helping protect LinkedIn’s members, customers, and infrastructure every day. And this is just one part of a much broader application security program. If solving hard security problems at global scale excites you, join us. We’re hiring across the InfoSec team at LinkedIn - come help secure the network that works for you. Amy Sell, PMP shared thisAre you exploring temporary or holiday work while in between jobs? After graduate school, I had a difficult time finding that full-time dream job, so I worked for a temp agency and found work as a truck dispatcher (yes!), provided billing support for a sprinkler company, and screened resumes for an insurance company. None of these were my “dream jobs,” but I had a blast, made some money, met interesting people, and learned a lot. According to Andrew, there are several reasons why you should really consider part time work and I completely agree: ✔ Part-time work can turn into a full-time role Many companies look to their seasonal or temporary workforce when hiring in the new year. ✔ Expand your network and interact with new people Seasonal roles are a great chance to meet new people and let’s be honest, job seeking can be lonely and isolating from your kitchen table. Grab coffee with coworkers, connect on LinkedIn, and build relationships that could lead to future opportunities. ✔ Try out a new industry or a local company Temporary work lets you explore different fields or organizations without a long-term commitment. You can try new roles at local companies while earning money. At the end of the experience, if it’s not for you, that’s okay and you can move on. Temporary work can be a great boost to your longer-term job search. I’ve worked many interesting and unique temporary jobs in between “dream jobs,” and every time I either learned something new or met terrific people who led me to other opportunities. Check out more tips from Andrew below! #CareerTips #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #TemporaryWork #SeasonalJobs #CareerAdvice #alwaysbelearningAmy Sell, PMP shared thisHoliday hiring is here... and it might be exactly what your job search needs. Amy Sell, PMP shared thisWhat if one conversation changed the course of your career? It did for me. In college, I was interested in everything. Like many students, I changed my major four times and studied many things including chemistry, marine biology, pre-med, anthropology, and forensics. I completed the pre-med curriculum and landed an incredible internship at the local medical university, assisting forensic pathologists with autopsies every Tuesday and Thursday. I remember watching the evening news to predict how busy we would be, anticipating victims of accidents, murders, and more. It was fascinating work. I was convinced medical school was my path. But it was a huge commitment, and I wanted to be sure before taking that leap. One day during some downtime, I asked one of the doctors I worked with a question that changed everything for me: “If you could do it all over again, would you still become a forensic pathologist?” She paused, then said, “No. No, I probably wouldn’t.” She explained that becoming a pathologist meant sacrificing much of her 20s, including dating, traveling, attending weddings, and graduating with enormous debt. Even though she loved her work, the tradeoffs were immense. For my 21-year-old self, this was too much to sacrifice, and that one conversation changed the trajectory of my life. Instead of applying to medical school, I pivoted into research and went to graduate school on a completely different path, one I don’t regret for a second. Looking back, I’ve had many conversations like that, especially at key moments when I was planning a career pivot or unsure what to do next. When you find yourself at a crossroads seek out someone who is living the life you are considering. 👉 Ask them that big burning question on your mind and find out WHY they made the choices they did. Their answer might be the nudge you need to pursue your next move. #CareerJourney #CareerPivot #CareerGrowth #Alwaysbelearning #linkedinlearning

Amy Sell, PMP reacted on thisAmy Sell, PMP reacted on thisThe joy of prostates... If you're wondering why I've been a bit quiet recently it's because I've been having some excitements "downstairs". Everyone says you should have the PSA blood test when you get to a certain age, and I have been experiencing reduced flow, so I did, ....and my PSA was a bit higher than it should've been. It was 11, and anything above 10 apparently is grounds for possible concern. So I was given an MRI (an interesting experience for someone who is extremely claustrophobic, but that's another story! https://lnkd.in/eXTtkqMF ) and the results were "inconclusive". Typical! So another blood test has my PSA at 13 - up from 11. So it was decided I needed a biopsy. (I probably wouldn't google-image the details of this particular procedure while you're having your dinner....). I've been dreading it for the last 6 weeks. I just had the biopsy today. It was, er, "interesting". If anyone wants to know what they are like, then feel free to DM me: if I can help you at all with your fears, from what I now know, then I'm up for that. As always, the NHS staff have been completely brilliant. Their knowledge, skill, and care, just brilliant. The results - I have to wait 3 or 4 weeks - will be either "you're fine/ it's benign enlargement (BPH)", or "you need an operation", or "you're in big trouble". I feel convinced it will be the first of the three, but we shall see. Whatever happens, after this I'm going to continue trying to enjoy every day as much as I can, and to work on things that make a difference to people. It has certainly been interesting to have to confront mortality, and to discover what it feels like to be really anxious about things that are coming up, because normally I don't really worry about anything, but I know that lots of other people do, and now I know what it's like! And of course it puts all the small stuff into perspective, ....nothing really matters apart from your health. So what I'd say to any man over 50 reading this is "Get your PSA blood test done, it's quick and easy (and in the UK it's free, I don't know about other countries) and either you will then know that you're fine - which would be great - or you'll know that you're not, and you can get it treated early". #medical #prostate #cancer

Ensuring your content remains clear with or without color isn't just a best practice, it’s essential accessibility. This Section 508 guide walks you through why color alone often fails to communicate effectively, especially for those with colorblindness, low vision, or other perception differences, and lays out how to fix that using both contrast and alternative cues like labels, patterns, or icons. Plus, it highlights tools like TPGi's Colour Contrast Analyser to help check your design meets accessibility standards. Worth a read if you’re serious about inclusive design. https://buff.ly/U6ZocJV #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #Color #ColorContrast #A11y #DigitalInclusion #Section508 #DigitalAccessibility #WebAccessibility

Most AI breach stories start the same way: someone trusted their asset inventory a little too much. Meanwhile, the real villains slip in through identities, sessions, and split-second intent. Asset-centric thinking is yesterday’s memo. If your security can’t read the room and the intent, you’re basically letting the interns run prod. If AI is rewriting the threat landscape in real time, your defenses better think just as fast — or you’re already outdrawn. https://lnkd.in/dgG9QtrB
