Document ads allow advertisers to promote documents (ex: e-books, case studies, white papers, infographics, and presentations) directly in the LinkedIn feed and on the LinkedIn Audience Network. Below are the advertising specifications for document ads.

File size | The file size can’t exceed 100 MB and 300 pages. |
File amount | You can select and upload up to five documents. |

File type | The following file types are supported: PPT, PPTX, DOC, DOCX, and PDF. Document ads with a lead generation objective only support PDFs. |
Videos and animations | Videos and other animations in documents aren’t supported and will display as static images instead. |
Hyperlinks | Hyperlinks in the document will only be clickable if the member downloads the document. Ensure that the hyperlinks are secure. |
PDFs with multiple layers must be flattened or merged. PDFs with multiple sized pages must be fit to the same page size. |
Ad text specifications

Name this ad (optional) | Use up to 255 characters. |
Introductory text | Use up to 150 characters to avoid shortening of the text (600 character maximum). Important: Insert any legally required language in the introductory text. URLs in this field that are longer than 23 characters will be converted to a short link. |
Headline | By default, the headline is pre-filled with the file name. Use up to 70 characters to avoid shortening of the headline (200 character maximum). Keep in mind that shortening of the headline can vary slightly depending on the device your ad is viewed on, and the type of characters you use. |
