Public universities make up about 40% of U.S. colleges (https://lnkd.in/eTdjDE37) — offering larger student bodies, a broad range of programs and often lower tuition thanks to federal and state government funding. Students thinking about attending a public university in the U.S. have over 1,000 options to pick from — but some schools lead the pack in setting graduates up for long-term career success. From University of Virginia (No. 1), to UC school University of California, Berkeley (No. 3), these public universities stand out from the rest. We analyzed schools on a variety of metrics like how quickly graduates secure full-time roles or rise into leadership positions. What other schools would you add to this list? And what unique benefits do public universities offer to students? Weigh in below. #LinkedInTopColleges 👉 Want to dig deeper? There's a little school called, UCLA you forgot

Love and honor to Miami (OH).

I was suspicious - immediately - when UCLA was not even on this list, not to mention in the top 3. Rankings of this sort depend to a very large degree on the criteria and methodology used, of course. US News and World Report provides a quite different perspective on the Top 10 Public Universities in the U.S. (University of California, multiple campuses, do exceptionally well) and they make their methodological approach transparent. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/top-public?_sort=rank&_sortDirection=asc#search-content

Proud to be an alumni of number one University of Virginia!

While I love seeing my alma mater, Penn State on this list, it's not technically a public school. Yes, it receives funding from the state but is far less affordable than our 14 PA State System of Higher Ed schools :)
