Recycling systems are complex—and how we evaluate them matters. As industry conversations evolve, it’s critical to understand how materials actually move through the system—and the role proper sorting, safety, contamination reduction and real-world conditions play in driving successful outcomes. Recycling works when we all participate. That’s why WM continues to invest in infrastructure, advanced technology, and education—to strengthen the system and improve results for communities we serve. When communities thrive, we all thrive. It was an honor to announce alongside Thunderbirds Charities that a record-breaking $20.1 million was raised for local charities at this year's WM Phoenix Open. These funds help to support nonprofits throughout Arizona with a focus on health care, accessibility, education and quality of life initiatives well beyond tournament week. A huge thank you to our corporate sponsors and fans. None of this would be possible without your continued support and energy that makes the WM Phoenix Open the Greenest Show on Grass. Let’s branch out to celebrate Arbor Day. 🌳 Our team works alongside Tandem Global (formerly Wildlife Habitat Council) to plant microhabitats, using a little land to make a big difference. So far, we have planted 320+ trees and 3,300+ plants through five programs across the country — with more to come! These microhabitats can: 🌱 Act as carbon sinks, absorbing and storing carbon dioxide from the air 🌱 Drive air quality improvement 🌱 Support noise reduction & temperature regulation 🌱 Help with stormwater management by absorbing rainwater and reducing erosion 🌱 Enable employee and community engagement 🌱 And so much more!
