  • Last Tuesday, The Thunderbirds announced that the 2026 WM Phoenix Open raised a record-breaking $20.1 MILLION for local Arizona charities! Altogether, the tournament has now raised more than $246 million for Arizona nonprofits throughout its 91-year history. 💙⛳️ The impact of the WM Phoenix Open extends far beyond tournament week, helping organizations across our community provide life-changing programs and services year-round. • We’re proud to stand alongside WM in proving that the WM Phoenix Open is about so much more than a week of golf. Together, we’ve built an event that creates lasting impact across Arizona — from supporting local charities to leading the way in sustainability and innovation. ♻️ This record-breaking $20.1 million contribution is a testament to what can happen when partners, volunteers, sponsors and fans rally around a shared purpose. A big thank you to John Morris, David Brannon, and to everyone at WM, who helps make this mission possible year after year. ⛳💚 #TheGreenestShowonGrass

The WM Phoenix Open has an impact that goes far beyond tournament week. This year, the event generated $20.1 million for charitable causes across Arizona, the highest total in its history and a powerful example of what’s possible when community partners and purpose come together. What makes this event special isn’t just the scale—it’s the model. Working alongside The Thunderbirds, we’re able to convert fan engagement, corporate collaboration and innovation into meaningful, year-round support for organizations that strengthen health care, education, accessibility and quality of life across Arizona. At the same time, the tournament continues to lead on sustainability—operating as one of the largest zero-waste sporting events in the world and showing how major events can reduce environmental impact while creating lasting community value. This is what it means to build something bigger than a week of golf. It’s about harnessing scale, relationships and innovation to drive real change in the communities we serve. Proud of the teams, partners and volunteers who make this possible year after year. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3PfvW6p #WMPO #Sustainability #CommunityImpact #DrivingSustainability #WeAreWM

  • Last week, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) celebrated the Class of 2026 at the annual Thunderbird High School Senior Classic at Gainey Ranch Golf Club. ⛳️🏌️ “The High School Senior Classic is our way of saying thank you to the seniors who’ve grown up in the JGAA family,” said Scott McNevin, JGAA Executive Director. “Many of these players have competed with us for years, and this tournament, made possible by The Thunderbirds, gives them a proper sendoff. It was a tournament to remember.” Congratulations to all of the athletes who teed it up, including Girls Champion Julia Herzberg and Boys Champion Jack Abraham. We’re proud to support the JGAA and the next generation of leaders, competitors, and ambassadors for the game. The future of Arizona golf is in great hands. 💙

This is our why. Today at Ability360, The Thunderbirds announced a record-breaking $20.1 million raised for local charities from the 2026 WM Phoenix Open. None of it happens without the fans who show up, the sponsors who believe in the mission, the volunteers who give their time, and a community that continues to rally around something bigger than golf. Over nine decades, the WM Phoenix Open has now generated nearly a quarter of a billion dollars for charity. A legacy measured not by crowds or headlines, but by lives impacted. At the end of the day, that will always be the number that matters most. WE ARE THE PEOPLE’S OPEN. Thunderbirds Charities Read more: https://bit.ly/4dkvltc

  • Thunderbirds Charities is proud to grant Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) a $25,000 grant for a series of workshops focusing on the Mental Health & Leadership Development for PCA Youth, Sports & Education Initiatives in Arizona. With this grant, PCA will have the opportunity to expand its work with underfunded schools and Youth Sports Organizations in Maricopa County to teach the valuable leadership and life skills/ lessons that can be taught through sport. “Thunderbirds Charities exemplifies what’s possible when leadership, philanthropy and community purpose come together”, said Rich Tomey, PCA Sr. Regional Director. “Their work continues to elevate PCA’s Mission in Arizona by funding programs that create real, lasting change for generations to come. Without their support, PCA would be limited in providing much-needed resources for Arizona’s underserved schools and youth organizations that see the value in PCA programming.” Learn more at positivecoach.org

A love letter to the Golf Geek (You know who you are). You're the one replaying that one shot from last Saturday on a Tuesday morning. The one who checks the weather three days out. The one who can't explain why you keep coming back after a miserable round, you just do. Because golf does that. It grabs you and doesn't let go. The closest game to the game we call life. A good walk spoiled. Character revealing. That's why we're here. To celebrate this game, this community, and everyone who has ever felt that indescribable itch back to the first tee. So today, we don't explain it. We just celebrate it. Happy #NationalGolfDay - See you in February. WM PGA TOUR Thunderbirds Charities

  • For 25 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America - Thunderbirds Branch has been a place where kids in North Scottsdale can learn, grow, build confidence, and create lifelong memories. 💙 We were proud to celebrate this incredible milestone alongside Club kids, alumni, staff, and supporters who make this Branch so special. The evening was filled with heartfelt stories and a powerful reminder of the impact this space has had on generations of local youth. Supporting programs and spaces like the Thunderbirds Branch is at the heart of our mission. Here’s to 25 years of impact — and an even brighter future ahead.

  • Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms and mother figures in our community! 💐 Today, we celebrate the women who lead with strength, give with compassion, and inspire the next generation every single day. Thank you for the love, support, and impact you make both at home and throughout our community. From all of us at Thunderbirds Charities, we wish you a joyful and well-deserved Mother’s Day! 💙
