I’m excited to announce that Picogrid has closed $45M Series A, led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The U.S. military is undergoing a generational reset. More sensors, drones, robots, and software tools are being fielded than at any point in recent history. But these systems rarely communicate with each other. The resulting fragmentation is the single biggest bottleneck facing militaries around the world. We're building the open infrastructure layer to solve this for the military's growing arsenal of sensors, drones, autonomous systems, AI agents, and C2 software. And we’re already deployed around the world on contract with the Pentagon, NATO, and multiple allied nations. Come build with us! We’re hiring across all departments: picogrid.com/careers

After spending 7 days a week on 12+ hour shifts with soldiers, I am more fired up than ever. Operators know that a basket of disconnected widgets is a massive liability on the modern battlefield. If systems can't talk to each other, they slow you down. The XVIII Airborne Corps Joint Innovation Outpost (JIOP) is redefining how quickly new capabilities can reach the tactical edge. They are accelerating the timeline to field what soldiers actually need today. By deploying Picogrid’s integration technology in under 90 days, JIOP is protecting troops from emerging threats and maximizing tactical effectiveness. https://lnkd.in/gerg7FYk

🚀El Segundo Serves as a National Model for Innovation-Driven Economic Development. The City was honored to host 🏛️ Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and a state delegation seeking to better understand how El Segundo has built one of the country’s fastest-growing hard tech ecosystems. The candid roundtable explored the policies, partnerships, and founder-first practices that help companies in El Segundo launch, scale, manufacture, hire, and innovate at speed - and what lessons can be tailored to fit Michigan’s unique startup ecosystem and needs. ⚙️ 🏭 🤝 In the room: founders and leaders from CX2, Varda Space Industries, Space Kinetic Corp., and Picogrid sharing real-world insight on why hard tech scales here. #WhereBigIdeasTakeOff Zack Pohl Quentin Messer, Jr. CEcD Ben Marchionna Christopher Pimentel Barbara Voss Cristina R. Last week, Picogrid, Jennie Kim, and I hosted the inaugural 'Gundo Gals gathering in LA, bringing together about 20 women across the defense, deep tech, and aerospace ecosystem. Over dinner, we shared experiences and brought to life a vision that started in a less-than-obvious place: the women’s bathroom. About a year ago, I was between sessions at a defense conference and ended up spending 25 minutes in the women’s bathroom, not waiting in line, but having some of the most meaningful conversations of the day. It was the first time I had seen the women’s line shorter than the men’s, and that observation sparked one conversation that quickly grew into a group. It was there that I met Chase Martens, who is now our Space Force lead at Picogrid. Although a small moment, it brought me back to my time as a student-athlete at Cal, where a teammate and I started Golden Girls, the first female student-athlete group focused on connection and mentorship across Cal athletics. It was built on a simple idea: showing up is enough. At 19, I thought this was an isolated experience, but in that moment I realized the need for a space where people can show up and be human goes far beyond athletics. And just like that, the mission for 'Gundo Gals was born and this is just the beginning. If you’re a woman in defense, deep tech, or aerospace, stay tuned for future events, we’d be honored to have you. Grateful to be building this group at Picogrid with Jennie Kim, now ~30% women, where bringing systems and people together is kind of our thing (and we’re hiring!)! ---- Shoutout to Alumni Ventures, Reveille VC and Cooley LLP for making this all possible!

El Segundo-based Picogrid has made integrating all of this fun new kit its life’s work. The company announced that they’ve snagged a procurement contract with the Army to integrate all the different counter-drone tech the XVIII Airborne Corps is getting its hands on. https://lnkd.in/gczEcQYV

Big news for Picogrid and our Partner Program: we’re now FedRAMP High authorized. The authorization clears Picogrid Legion for deployment across the federal government in any environment requiring the highest standards of data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This is a new benefit for the Picogrid Partner Program, our growing ecosystem of more than 75 third-party vendors supplying best-in-class drones, sensors, software, and robotics systems. Federal agencies can now leverage Legion's FedRAMP High baseline to onboard Partner hardware and software with significantly less friction. Shoutout to our engineering team, which worked extra hard to get this done in partnership with Palantir Technologies FedStart! Strong collaboration and a great example of how open, interoperable systems accelerate real operational capability. Exercises like this show what’s possible when best-in-class sensing, command-and-control, and counter-UAS technologies work together to deliver reliable sensor-to-shooter awareness in complex environments. Proud to see Echodyne radar contributing to the integrated airspace picture alongside great partners like DroneShield and Picogrid.
During a recent exercise at the U.S. Army's National Training Center, Picogrid, Echodyne, and DroneShield demonstrated how rapidly interoperable counter-UAS ecosystems can deliver real sensor-to-shooter capability by bringing together best-in-class technologies. Thank you to our partners for this successful collaboration. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gjcn2MdG #counterdrone #defensetech #CUAS
