With its medieval architecture, vibrant culture, and incredible culinary scene, Kraków is both a new WordCamp destination and the perfect place to celebrate the all-new WordPress 7.0. From June 4–6, you can expect: 🔹Not one, but two Automattic booths 🔹Product demos and the teams behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, Pressable, and more 🔹Sessions and panels from our leaders, builders, and innovators 🔹Locally sourced swag, giveaways, and surprises 🔹And a keynote from Matt Mullenweg to bring it all home WordCamp Europe kicks off with Contributor Day. • 23 years ago today, WordPress launched and changed what it meant to publish on the web. What started as a blogging tool became the infrastructure for nearly half of the internet. Happy birthday, WordPress!

23 looks good on WordPress. 🎂 Since May 27, 2003, WordPress has been blogging, building, publishing, shipping, translating, theming, plugin-ing, and making the web a little more wonderfully weird. Happy birthday, WordPress. 💙 #WordPress

  • "The ideas will always matter.” That was just one of many standout moments from digital art pioneer Robert Hodgin in conversation with our design co-lead, Pablo Honey, at last night’s dev/ai/nyc event at our NoHo Space in downtown Manhattan. 🗽 Robert's work has defined the field of generative art—from building the default iTunes visualizer for Apple, to pioneering flocking simulations and interactive installations, to co-founding Rare Volume. In their unfiltered conversation on art in the age of automation, he and Pablo traced their creative journeys from Flash and RISD to Houdini and Touch Designer. They also looked ahead to what AI means for artists, agencies, and the next generation of creatives. It was one of our most insightful applied AI events yet! 🍎Here are some of our favorite snaps 🍎Watch the full conversation:  https://lnkd.in/enwB8kZt  🍎And we’ll see you at the next one in June!

  • Heading to Kraków, Poland, for @WordCamp Europe? We’ve built something new to help you make the most of it. Say howdy to the WordCamp Agent. 🇵🇱 The full #WordCampEurope schedule has 60-plus sessions across tracks covering @WordPress, AI, and more. Planning your days in advance is worth the effort. To make that effort easier, one of our Automatticians—Artur Piszek —built WordCamp Agent: a Telegram Messenger bot designed to help attendees navigate the event, plan travel, discover sessions, and get personalized recommendations. The agent is tailored to you, including accessibility needs. And it was built entirely without code, just by publishing skills and instructions on a WordPress.com site. 🏰Swipe through the slideshow to learn more! 🏰 👉Try WordCamp Agent: https://lnkd.in/evYYCU3y 👉Browse the full #WCEU26 schedule: https://lnkd.in/e87DtAQs

  • From idea to public launch in just a few weeks! Our team built "Clips" during Automattic’s #RadicalSpeedMonth to bring AI-powered video creation directly into the WordPress editor. With this new experimental feature, you can transform text posts into engaging, short-form vertical videos with a single click. The editor automatically generates a 9:16 video complete with your headline, cinematic visuals, and a clear call-to-action and saves it straight to your media library in about sixty seconds. The early preview is live today for WordPress.com Premium (and higher) plans, and is coming soon to Jetpack AI and Complete subscribers. Check out the work from the team below to see how it works. 👇

Clips is live! 🎬 Turn any WordPress post into a short-form vertical video from right inside the editor! If you have a WordPress.com site on a Premium (or higher) plan, you can now access an early preview of this experimental feature. Also coming soon to Jetpack AI & Complete subscribers! Write your post as usual, hit Generate Clip in the editor sidebar, and about a minute later, you have a 9:16 video — your headline up front, cinematic visuals, a call-to-action at the end — saved to your media library and ready to share to your socials. We're launching with the "Cinematic" style: atmospheric, b-roll-driven clips — great for a travel blog teaser, a news article preview, or a product drop promo. ---- Aagam and I have been building Clips as part of Automattic's #radicalspeedmonth — idea to public launch in a matter of weeks. #WordPress #VideoContent #AI #SocialMediaMarketing #ContentCreation #Shorts #Clips #Reels

  • Hey hosting affiliates, have you noticed a shift in your traffic this year? You’re not alone. Recent data shows that 71 percent of monitored affiliate sites have experienced ranking declines, with many seeing drops of 30-50 percent. Templated lists and AI-generated roundups are being deprioritized in favor of content built on firsthand product experience. If you want to recover and grow the visibility of your WordPress, WooCommerce, or Jetpack affiliate posts, it is time to pivot. In our latest Automattic Affiliate blog post, we break down how to adapt to these changes. We discuss: 🌐 Adding Real Experience: Using original screenshots, real workflows, and specific data to prove you have used the product. 🌐 Strengthening Credibility: Why author bios and external expertise signals are no longer optional for ranking. 🌐 Consolidating Content: How merging thin, overlapping pages into deep, authoritative resources creates a stronger signal of relevance.
