Big news for WordPress Studio! We’ve just added the Blueprints Gallery to Studio 1.9.0, expediting the process of building a local WordPress site. The Blueprints Gallery provides developers and builders with a curated library of ready-made WordPress environments to browse, preview, and launch without leaving your site. Here is what that means in practice: 🔧Set it and forget it: Each Blueprint is a reusable JSON configuration that automatically sets up WordPress with specific themes, plugins, content, and settings. No repetitive manual setup. 🔧Built-in previews: Before you create a site, use the Live Preview button to explore a Blueprint in WordPress Playground. Test layouts, themes, and plugins before you commit. 🔧 CLI support: Developers can also list and launch Blueprints directly from the terminal using Studio's CLI with the Blueprint command. Whether you’re prototyping a WooCommerce store, testing a plugin, or just want a clean starting point for a new project, the gallery has a Blueprint for it. WordPress Studio is free, open source, and runs locally with no server setup required. 👉Download Studio and explore the Blueprints Gallery: https://lnkd.in/gbCxVHNq

Achievement unlocked! We’ve created the new Achievements page, a dedicated place to celebrate your progress, now live in the Reader. Whether you have been publishing posts, leaving comments, or just showing up consistently, Achievements makes those moments visible. Your badges, milestones, progress indicators, and activity streaks are all in one spot. Here is how it works: 🏅Milestones and badges track the actions you take on WordPress.com, from your first post to ongoing activity. 🏅 Activity streaks grow when you publish, comment, like, or follow. Keep it up for seven days, and you earn a streak freeze that protects your progress if you miss a day. 🏅 Privacy controls let you keep your page to yourself or share it with other logged-in users — your call. Some achievements are straightforward. Others are a little more unexpected. WordPress.com is not spoiling all the surprises, but if you enjoy Easter Eggs and oddly specific internet accomplishments, it is worth a look around. 👉Head to your Reader profile to see what you have already unlocked: https://lnkd.in/eS52RP6P

The #WCEU26 schedule is here – and it's a good one! WordCamp Europe heads to Kraków, Poland on June 4–6, and this year's program reflects everything we love about the WordPress community: open, diverse, and built for everyone. 60+ sessions. Speakers from 20 countries across 6 continents. Tracks covering accessibility, AI, education, business, marketing, and core WordPress development. Plus a new extended workshop format giving attendees more time to actually dig in and learn. This is the largest gathering of the WordPress community in Europe — contributors, developers, designers, agencies, and first-timers, all showing up to build something together. That's what open source looks like at its best. 📅 Full schedule: https://lnkd.in/e87DtAQs And if you're planning your trip, WordCamp Agent — a free Telegram bot built by an Automattician — can help you personalize your days based on your session interests, networking goals, and accessibility needs. 🤖 Try it: https://lnkd.in/evYYCU3y See you in Kraków. 🇵🇱

General AI coding agents can write excellent code. But they can’t: 👉Spin up a local WordPress environment 👉Validate block markup against the real WordPress editor 👉Screenshot the result to check their own work and iterate it 👉Build with WordPress best practices baked in So we built one that can. Studio Code is now free in beta. Here’s a look at how it works: there’s Anthropic’s Claude Code as the foundation — then the WordPress-specific layer that general agents are missing, and the local dev tools from WordPress Studio. The result is vibe coding that knows WordPress deeply and ships to prod when you ask. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/grNSzRpM

When medical research needs to reach the world, infrastructure matters. 💻 Béla Grundmann saw a major gap in the European medical-lifecycle space: world-class experts were leading the charge in healthcare, but they lacked the digital presence to match their expertise. He founded the London-based HealthPress.io, which empowers lifestyle medicine professionals to create structured online programs, memberships, and communities with WordPress. Healthpress ensures medical authorities have the high-performance digital foundation they need. But this story is about more than just IT; it is about the impact that infrastructure has on experts, helping Professor Godfrey Grech and Doctor Ioan Hanes MD scale their missions, too. For Godfrey, an academic professor, it meant moving from clinic-based programs in Malta to managing wellness pipelines across Barcelona, the U.K., and Dubai. For Hanes, a physician and vice-president of the European Lifestyle Medicine Organization, it meant delivering a modern educational experience to 600 students from 60 different countries. All of it runs on WordPress.com. “Without the automation and the platforms we use today, we couldn’t do this,” says Grech. By prioritizing site performance, these experts can stop worrying about their digital reach and start focusing on life-saving research and education. 👉Read the full story on how HealthPress is bridging the gap between medicine and technology: https://lnkd.in/etX6PS48

WordPress 7.0 is on the way, and this milestone update marks the platform's transition to being AI-native. 🛠️ The days of fragmented, plugin-specific AI tools are over. This update introduces a shared infrastructure that allows the entire ecosystem to work in sync. Here’s how the foundation has changed: 🌐The Abilities API: Paired with the all-new Connectors AI, standardizes connections to plugins and external services. 🌐The WordPress AI Client: Site owners can connect to models like @Claude once. That connection is then available to every plugin on the site. 🌐Our MCP server: Allows external AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT to "see" and execute tasks on your site directly. This structural shift makes AI-powered workflows possible at scale, and a smarter, more capable WordPress for everyone. 👉 You won’t want to miss the launch! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/geB2hz7z

An amazing cause, with a boost from our services! 🐾 High school senior Murphy Levesque founded Hidden Gem Animal Rescue to save local kittens. Today, she’s saved more than 100 rescue animals, with help from WordPress.com. In 2020, she and her team realized they needed a way to transform a local effort into a regional nonprofit organization. By partnering with the Automattic Special Projects team, they moved from fragmented social updates to a centralized platform that handles everything from adoption applications to professional fundraising. Since launching on WordPress.com three years ago, Hidden Gem has doubled its rescue volume. The site allowed them to expand their reach from Connecticut to North Carolina and Texas, providing a professional polish that matches the scale of their mission. Murphy’s story is a masterclass in how the right tools allow an organization to grow as fast as its ambition. Check out her full story: https://lnkd.in/eNffvkB4
