Now, that was the definition of an interactive session! Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nancy Poleon from BrandedU to our office in The Hague. She delivered an inspiring and energetic session on personal branding — and what a session it was! Organised by NIBC's Diversity & Inclusion Council in celebration of International Women’s Day, Nancy shared powerful insights on the importance of self-confidence and truly believing in your own value, especially in the workplace. Her message was clear: owning your story and showing up authentically can open doors and create real opportunities for growth and impact. Last week, NIBC's Young Committee organised a visit for 50 colleagues to our Frankfurt office. It was a fantastic opportunity for our colleagues to connect with their German counterparts and be welcomed into their working environment. Together, they enjoyed drinks and dinner, creating stronger bonds and sharing insights. Additionally, the group took the opportunity to visit a data centre of one of our esteemed clients from NIBC Infrastructure, explore the Deutsche Bundesbank, and tour the European Central Bank. At NIBC, we cherish such great interactions between our colleagues. Future Talent at NIBC! 🚀    Yesterday, we welcomed a large group of enthusiastic students to our office in The Hague! During this Inhouse Day, they received an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at NIBC—what we do, what it’s like to work here, and how our core values—Professional, Adaptive, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial—come to life in practice. Our colleagues shared their own experiences at NIBC, giving the students valuable insights into our culture and way of working. This week is Dutch Money Week (Week van het geld)! From 24 to 28 March, banks across the Netherlands are promoting financial education. Dutch Money Week, organised by Wijzer in geldzaken, focuses on teaching children and young people about financial temptation, peer pressure, and responsible money management. Our CFO, Claire Dumas, joined Bank voor de Klas, an initiative teaching young people how to manage money by offering interactive guest lessons and educational programmes for primary and secondary schools. Together with Judith Pijnenburg from Obvion, she played the Cash Quiz with VMBO students at OSB Bijlmer, a school in Amsterdam. Claire: "The students actively participated, and I was positively surprised by how much they already knew. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend everyone to give a guest lecture at a school!" We celebrate our colleague Bart van der Spek, who this month marks his 35th anniversary as our cherished colleague! Reflecting on his time at NIBC, Bart shares: "When I started, it was hard to imagine that I would still be at NIBC 35 years later. I’ve always worked with enthusiastic colleagues, driven by their entrepreneurial spirit and focus on making a difference both independently and as a team. This, combined with the opportunity to work in and experience many areas of the Bank, sometimes in challenging circumstances, whilst also having fun, has simply kept me flying…" Thank you, Bart, for your continuous commitment and the remarkable impact you’ve made with us. Last week, we celebrated the retirement of our beloved colleague, Louis Noordermeer. After an impressive career spanning almost 49 years (!) at the bank, Louis is setting off for his well-deserved retirement. Louis will be greatly missed. Whether it was his stories about doing the accounting on A3 papers by hand, his masterclasses for new bankers, or his never-ending enthusiasm when talking about cycling, football, wine, or the “decimale rekeningstelsel,” it was all typically Louis. We can say with 90% certainty, which was not accurate enough for Louis, that there has been and will be no other colleague who will reach the milestone of 49 years. A great accomplishment, which shows his dedication and love for NIBC. Apart from Louis’ in-depth knowledge of the bank, it has become apparent over the last few days that what we will miss most is his general interest and enthusiasm when talking to colleagues. We wish Louis all the best in his retirement and hope that it will be filled with all the things he loves. But we know one thing for certain: the 8 o'clock mornings will never be the same at NIBC. #NIBC #Farewell #Retirement #Teamwork
