Last week, we celebrated the retirement of our beloved colleague, Louis Noordermeer. After an impressive career spanning almost 49 years (!) at the bank, Louis is setting off for his well-deserved retirement. Louis will be greatly missed. Whether it was his stories about doing the accounting on A3 papers by hand, his masterclasses for new bankers, or his never-ending enthusiasm when talking about cycling, football, wine, or the “decimale rekeningstelsel,” it was all typically Louis. We can say with 90% certainty, which was not accurate enough for Louis, that there has been and will be no other colleague who will reach the milestone of 49 years. A great accomplishment, which shows his dedication and love for NIBC. Apart from Louis’ in-depth knowledge of the bank, it has become apparent over the last few days that what we will miss most is his general interest and enthusiasm when talking to colleagues. We wish Louis all the best in his retirement and hope that it will be filled with all the things he loves. But we know one thing for certain: the 8 o'clock mornings will never be the same at NIBC. #NIBC #Farewell #Retirement #Teamwork
