Leadership, Purpose and Nation Building. Besides expertise and deep knowledge, one winning qualities above, I have noticed in great leaders is their deep passion for technology. How technology is not a burden but access to opportunities & growth. It is that genuine curiosity and belief in what technology with a clear end vision can do that often separates those who simply manage change from leaders who are constantly creating it. Throughout my career, I have found that this sense of conviction is often the real X-factor. It shapes how leaders think, how they respond to change and how they inspire others to move forward with purpose. MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz is one such leader. He is someone I look up to for inspiration because he leads not only with clarity and urgency but also by example. Leader whom walks the talks. What stands out to me is his ability to translate vision into action while bringing government, industry and society along in a meaningful way. His passion for technology spans the full spectrum of the digital economy: From major national priorities and high-value investments to the everyday realities of MSMEs. The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has secured MYR 87.4 billion ($22.35 billion) in approved digital investments in 2025, driven largely by the growth in artificial intelligence (AI), big data, data centers and cloud services.
