BNP Paribas has supported Mistral AI on a US$830 million financing to fund the deployment of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell infrastructure - with 13,800 NVIDIA GB300 graphics processing units (GPUs) - in a new data center at Bruyères-le-Châtel in France.    Bruyères-le-Châtel is the first data center selected by Mistral AI, dedicated to AI and the intensive training of LLMs, and is set to become operational in Q2 2026. As of 30th March 2026, Sandro Pierri, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Asset Management, joins the Executive Committee of the BNP Paribas Group. This appointment confirms the strategic positioning of the newly unified BNPP AM within the integrated model of the Group, combining industrial scale with BNP Paribas’ powerful distribution, insurance, and corporate banking capabilities. Sandro Pierri reports to Renaud Dumora, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas, in charge of Investment & Protection Services.

The event was a great success, bringing together nearly 7,000 participants who came to exchange and deepen their understanding of financial markets. Our experts were on hand to guide, advise and present BNP Paribas investment solutions, helping individuals build their financial literacy and leave with the tools needed to make informed investment decisions, with a clear view of both risks and opportunities. Another highlight of the day included insightful talks by Falko Wesemann and Nicolas Voinchet, who shared their perspectives on two key topics for investors in 2026: the future of the AI sector and the dynamics shaping Asian markets. As of 1st July 2026, Sarah Roussel will be appointed Head of Human Resources of BNP Paribas. She will join the Group Executive Committee and report to Philippe Maillard, Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). She will succeed Sofia Merlo, who has decided to retire after a distinguished career within BNP Paribas. Sarah Roussel began her career in 1994 within BNP Paribas IG. She went on to hold several senior finance roles across the Group, including CFO of CIB in London and CFO of the Domestic Markets division. She later served as CEO of BNP Paribas Factor in France and Iberia, before being appointed CEO of Arval BNP Paribas Group France in 2022, where she successfully led the Arval Avenir plan and strengthened the entity’s market position. Sofia Merlo has spent her entire career at BNP Paribas, joining in 1985 in corporate banking. She held a range of leadership roles in retail banking and later in Human Resources, where she notably launched the Group’s diversity policy. She then moved to Wealth Management, becoming Head of BNP Paribas Wealth Management France and later Co-CEO of the business line. In 2020, she returned to Human Resources as Group Chief Human Resources Officer and member of the Executive Committee. We wish Sarah ROUSSEL every success in her new role and Sofia MERLO all the very best in this new chapter of her life.
