BNP Paribas has supported Sizewell C on a GBP5.5 billion debt package to finance construction of the Suffolk-based nuclear power plant.   Sizewell C aims to help secure Britain’s long-term energy supply, delivering home grown energy to an equivalent of circa six million homes whilst creating high-skilled jobs across the UK-supply chain.   The landmark capital raise makes Sizewell C the first nuclear project globally to be financed with independent, private financial investors.   The use of the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model lowers financing costs by allowing regulated revenues during construction and attracting private investment that would not otherwise be possible.   BNP Paribas acted as Joint Debt Advisor and Mandated Lead Arranger, through its #BNPPRealAssets team and #BNPPLowCarbonTransitionGroup.
