🕰️ Timeless Treasures: From “saving” to investing – 70 years of DWS Group How do you make investing accessible to a broader population? In the mid-1950s, this question led to the creation of what is today our asset manager DWS. At a time when share ownership was far from common, the goal was clear: offer people a new, diversified way to build wealth after the experience of war and inflation. In 1956, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Wertpapiersparen was founded – deliberately emphasising “saving” rather than the then unfamiliar concept of “investment.” Just months later, the launch of the Investa equity fund marked the beginning of practical securities saving in Germany – designed explicitly for investors with small and mid-sized incomes. What started as an initiative to open up capital markets to new investor groups has, over the decades, evolved into a global asset manager with clients around the world. 📸 Explore early fund campaigns, product milestones and how investing was brought to life for a new generation.
