We simply reverted back to standard D365 logic. ⚡ What started as a "necessary" solution from the past had become a process bottleneck. 🚧 Many organizations are carrying customization debt. Customizations that made sense at the time now add complexity, slow performance, and increase upgrade risks. ⚠️ What works: ✅ - Question every customization before building it - is standard functionality really insufficient? 🤔 - Document the business case for each customization so future teams understand the "why" 📝 - Audit existing customizations periodically - do they still serve the current business process? 🔍 Sometimes customizations are absolutely necessary to fit unique business needs. But we should treat them like technical debt - minimize them and regularly evaluate if they're still earning their keep. 💡 What's your process for evaluating whether a customization is truly necessary? Too often, companies think that just buying tools like Dynamics 365, SAP, Salesforce, Acumatica, Oracle NetSuite, or Odoo will magically streamline operations. Especially in non-IT teams, there's an assumption that minimal knowledge transfer is enough. Then, when things go wrong, the tool gets blamed. It’s like watching a MasterChef episode and thinking you’re ready to run a Michelin-star kitchen. Real success comes from: - Clear process mapping. - Involvement of actual users. - Strong documentation by analysts/consultants. - Choosing the right delivery methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Let’s stop blaming the tools — they’re not the problem. Let’s stop expecting software to perform magic, and start feeding it real, structured, meaningful input.

As an educator, one gap I’ve consistently observed is the disconnect between foundational concepts and real-world application. While the classroom provides essential grounding, students often need relatability to truly engage and internalize what they learn. To bridge this gap, I intentionally take on short-term industry roles each year as I prepare for a new academic cycle. Whether working as a cybersecurity engineer, AI engineer, delivery associate, or warehouse associate, these experiences have provided me with valuable, on-the-ground insights. These roles have directly shaped how I design my curriculum, integrating current industry trends into labs, case studies, and hands-on learning experiences. From graduate-level cybersecurity courses to undergraduate machine learning and information systems classes, I’ve incorporated real-world applications across domains such as supply chain management, logistics, ERP, and CRM systems. The result? A more practical, engaging, and relevant learning experience for students. I’m always looking to improve.
