  • What if stroke patients could bring rehabilitation home? That’s the simple idea behind Dr. Sean Dukelow's Stroke Recovery with Virtual Reality (STRIVE) project. Patients use pre-configured VR headsets to complete assigned modules, which were built in partnership with Red Iron Labs and designed to feel like games. This technology has a potential to be a game changer for stroke patients, particularly those living in rural areas who may need to travel into the nearest city to access rehabilitation support. Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Confirms Pharmaceutical-Grade Purity of Frances Creek Barite & Advances to Health Canada Human Trial Today marks a defining milestone for Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd. We are proud to announce that independent laboratory testing has confirmed pharmaceutical-grade purity of our Frances Creek barium sulfate API — achieving 98.8% average BaSO₄ purity, with multiple batches reaching 99.1%–99.4%, exceeding the USP minimum requirement of 97.5%. This validation was completed under the Alberta Innovates AICE-Market Access Program, and we are officially progressing to Stage 2, unlocking additional non-dilutive funding to support commercialization. Key Technical Highlights: 🔹 98.8% average BaSO₄ purity 🔹 99.1–99.4% purity in select batches 🔹 100% USP monograph compliance, including USP <232> elemental impurity standards 🔹 Micronized to pharmaceutical specifications (d50: 1.1–1.9 µm; d90 as low as 2.5 µm) 🔹 100% processing yield with no contamination or discoloration 🔹 Final API processed and packaged under full GMP standards This milestone represents a major technical de-risking event and validates the viability of our natural barite resource from Frances Creek, British Columbia as a regulated pharmaceutical-grade API. With this achievement, Voyageur is advancing toward a Health Canada human clinical trial, where our contrast agents will be evaluated against current standard-of-care barium and iodinated products in gastrointestinal CT and fluoroscopic imaging applications. Targeted study outcomes in Q4 2026 are expected to: 🔹 Strengthen regulatory positioning 🔹 Support FDA licensing initiatives beginning Q1 2026 🔹 Accelerate commercialization 🔹 Advance a secure, cost-effective North American contrast media supply chain We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Alberta Innovates for their support through the AICE-Market Access Program. Their partnership has been instrumental in accelerating this validation and moving us closer to commercialization. Most importantly, we thank our shareholders for their continued confidence and support as we execute on our strategy and advance toward market entry. Delivering on strategy, advancing toward market leadership. #VoyageurPharmaceuticals #PharmaceuticalInnovation #MedicalImaging #API #HealthCanada #FDA #AlbertaInnovates #ContrastMedia #TSXV

  • We are proud to support this important initiative announced at the BioAlberta 2026 Policy Forum. Alongside Pfizer and Roche Canada, we are investing in the Precision Analytics Program, a collaboration between the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Cancer Care Alberta that is using one of the world’s most comprehensive cancer datasets to better understand the patient journey. By turning data into actionable insights, this program will help identify pressures in the system and support new approaches to improve efficiency, reduce wait times, and ultimately enhance care for patients across Alberta.

Today at the BioAlberta 2026 Policy Forum, the Alberta Cancer Foundation announced a significant milestone in cancer care for our province. Pfizer and Alberta Innovates have joined Roche Canada in a $4.5-million initiative to advance the Precision Analytics Program, a collaboration between the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Cancer Care Alberta that is creating a roadmap to improve patient outcomes across the province. Alberta is home to one of the most comprehensive cancer datasets in the world. Since 2014, over 300 million patient visits have been recorded, creating a rich resource for health researchers. The Precision Analytics Program puts this data to work, creating a first-of-its-kind digital map of the cancer care journey that allows health leaders to identify where pressures are building and find new ways to boost efficiency and reduce wait times. “Like cancer itself, growth in new diagnoses has ‘side effects’ on our cancer care system, including longer wait times and a strained workforce,” says Wendy Beauchesne, CEO of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. “New solutions are no longer optional — they are urgent. This continued investment allows us to turn data into a roadmap for faster, more personalized care.”    We are grateful to our partners for their shared commitment to a cancer care system that works better for every Albertan. #CancerCare #HealthInnovation #PrecisionAnalytics #HealthcareData #LifeSciences BioAlberta, Roche Canada, Pfizer, Alberta Innovates, Pierre-Alexandre Landry, Michael Mahon, Laura Pagnotta, Christy Holtby, CFRE, Lindsay Gilbert

  • Alberta’s food and beverage processors are facing pressure right now, and they shouldn’t have to navigate it alone. A little over a week ago, we executed a grant agreement to support a new province-wide initiative led by the Alberta Food Processors Association (AFPA). It’s designed to help tariff-affected Alberta businesses access practical support—from business coaching to technology guidance—to reduce costs, strengthen operations, and grow sustainably. As a co-funder, Alberta Innovates is expanding this support with expertise and resources that help companies build technology readiness. This includes guidance to identify, pilot, and adopt tools that modernize operations and boost competitiveness. This work supports more than individual businesses. It contributes to long-term food security, affordability, job creation, and economic diversification, benefits that reach everyday Albertans.
