When comparing the cameras on the X17 Ultra and the S26 Ultra, the Samsung feels like a $150 phone :)
The X17 Ultra simply has a better camera for the entire class.

I just use type C port for everything/ BT so again only my opinion of the subject like yourself. I have decent wireless cans so just hasn't effected me (Cambridge audio p100se, love em).

If you use em and need em then Sony are 1 of the good ones, like I say I've not really needed certain things like headphone jack for years but yeah if it's just handy to have then why not brother ๐
doctore, 22 Apr 2026There are many reasons why we need it, but you don't understand them, and you never will.... moreI was rocking phones from the 00s using wired headphones, also lot a good few by the wire being ripped out and damaged (mates dog jumped up to greet me, broke my headphones haha).
If it's an extra feature and you want It then awesome, a great device for you just BT and type C port are really good and can do that job (all I'm saying sorry if it seemed like I was saying it's a bad phone)
Anonymous, 21 Mar 2026Wrong ๐ญIt's not but let's agree to disagree and hope you're all good ๐

i think you are overgeneralizing.
i don't like people that do that just to feed their narrative about certain stuff or in this case a phone and its camera algorithm. but hey, it's just my opinion. i'm nobody to you, so it's all good.
where was i.. ah yes.
so..
every camera has their own color science and presets for everything.
so there could be as much of choice for us.
why?
because we, people, are not the same. we all have our preferences in absolutely everything.
to say "this or that is better than this" we really have to say more about. just yes or no, the best or not or it's just black or white will not do the trick.
i'm a bit surprised from time to time, why people want to have just one universal truth to everything?
like.. is that how the real world works? no...
there is no universal truth because it lies in each of us and we all look at things differently.
we all have our preferences. that's a good thing.
imagine if we were all the same and declaring only one brand to be good in that particular area. how would that look like? well, first of, people wouldn't buy that philosophy because some cherish the diversity in everything more than being the same as others.
if everyone is dressed the same, if we drive the same cars, if we have all the same, and we travel the same routs and having the exact same thoughts and feelings. how would that work? i think it wouldn't.
why so many people want others to be the same as they are and to be agreed to as many people as they can? i thought different experience and preference is something cool.
anyway.. i disagree with your statement that Xiaomi phones produce the best pictures out of all phones on the market. it depends on so many things to declare it "the best".
but what really triggers the most of people is that phrase... "a real photographer"...
hehe.. it seems many people here are real professionals. it's just a shame that all these pro guys are not actually helping anyone in here. their help would really be appreciated.
just my 2 cents.
it's actually closer to a 0.
lol.
Bob the web dev, 27 Jun 2026I grew up using 3.5 jack through the 00s using it every day of my life but yeah I won't ... moreeverybody used them before, not just you.
now almost nobody using them because they told us we don't need it.
bluetooth needs battery, so that's one more thing to think about.
you are right tho.
3.5mm jack is not a must have anymore like it used to be.
but not because people voted and said "we don't need this or that".
nobody complained when we had both options.
companies don't have to fight too much against people and their needs,
because they have people like you, advocating every business decision they make.
telling others how should they use their phone. because THEY say you don't need 3.5mm. so that must be universal truth.
some say... the truth is in the of the beholder. but who cares for that, right?
the most important thing when people want to express their opinion about some missing feature THEY (not you) want on THEIR (not yours) next purchase is to tell them they are WRONG, because you ... said it.
amazing right?
i think so too.
people now days are really, like really selfish.
and they all think they're God given and main actors in some bad ass movie.
they don't listen what others are saying. they don't want to.
they're not interested in what others have to say at all.
they want to share their opinion, but it must be said in such a way that disrespects other peoples opinions while telling them how wrong THEY are with THEIR choice.
yeah i know.
amazing times we live in.
just amazing.
talking with sarcasm and thinking we are winning something or proving to someone.. something.
have a great day.

It was a purely business decision, not an engineering one.
Anonymous, 21 Mar 2026Wrong ๐ญGreat proof, oh because you say wrong must instantly mean you're correct, the brain dead society we live in now. Do some research you'll find I'm actually completely correct, won't take back your mistake though right lol
Anonymous, 15 Mar 2026And you'll need a bulky dongle if you need to charge the phone at the same timeOr wireless charge? Or I don't know, use BT headphones so you don't need to connect a wire, a thing most normal thinking people have been doing since 2018.
On a phone, a 3.5 jack is pointless, creates weakness to the actual integrity to the device and means you'll have to have a smaller battery (if Samsung, apple or pixels with old battery tech) and complete re arrangement of parts inside, for something that outputs the same quality as modern decent BT headphones and on devices with BT 5.3 and higher now, do some actual research or use the actual tech because it's clear you just haven't (I've lived through 3.5, not needed it in atleast 8 years now and I grew up with walkmens, pre iPhone phones playing music etc)
doctore, 22 Apr 2026There are many reasons why we need it, but you don't understand them, and you never will.... moreI grew up using 3.5 jack through the 00s using it every day of my life but yeah I won't ever understand losing multiple headphones through this way or have unusable phone - headphones/ audio if the wire or port is damaged.
My current BT cans can play 48khz music and has the atpx lossless codec, which Spotify and I think tidal (maybe even Amazon music and YouTube now) output, that's cd quality.
Also what you clearly haven't quite figured out... The type C port IS A 3.5 JACK, the whole point was to change to the universal type C, remove extra pressure/break points and to the structure of the phone, they can make it from a single block of aluminium now, a child could figure this out even with 5 minutes of research.
On phones it's absolutely pointless now unless you're some movie director creating high, expensive content and even then you would use a dedicated camera connected to a laptop that'll have that said port.
Gg, you played yourself.

I agree that the camera is much better then on Samsung. Can I ask, how is Xiaomi 17 Ultra after 6 months off using? I'm mainly worried about the system. Is it good enough like the rest of phone? Stable, no shutter, bugs... I think Color OS is better. Thank You for answers.

However Iโm confused between the S... moref taking pictures is the most important thing for you, then Xiaomi 17 ultra is better than Samsung Ultra. And if you are going to shoot video, then Samsung Ultra is better. I have Samsung S25 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. I can compare. Samsung shoots video much, much better. Maybe Xiaomi will get an update and then it will be different, but for now unfortunately ... And you are not even comparing S25 Ultra, but S26 Ultra - then the difference must be even greater.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a good phone. It takes very good photos.Good screen.UI. Unfortunately, the main camera module records very poorly due to very poor stabilization. And what is very strange: the ultrawide camera and the zoom camera stabilize well. But the main camera transmits even the slightest movement of the fingers to the image. Even the heartbeat shakes the image. The slightest hand tremor is visible on the screen. There has been no camera update yet. I will be disappointed. Would I recommend this phone to anyone? Definitely not. The main 1" camera is NOT SUITABLE for filming yet.
Absolutely amazing phone, special cameras. I uograded from Xiaomi 13 Pro and difference is huge, even in main cam, zoom is another level. Yesterday i had Oppo X9 Pro at home and refunded so fasr, coz Opoo was crap, ai everywhere, pjotos ruined, terrible. This X17U is much better than Oppo X9 pro.
Been using this phone about 3 months now. The cameras are great, don't push to 400mm, since limit is 100mm (everything else is digital crop).
The photo app has some serious processing compare to 3rd party photo-app (the one that is used in Pixel series).
The battery is fine, although I wouldn't expect people to pay full price for -whatever this is, there are better option out there.
