vivo S2's launch date and design revealed
vivo started teasing the S2 earlier this week, and today, its Indian branch revealed the smartphone will be unveiled on August 6 at 12 PM IST.
The promo page set up by vivo on its official Indian website also includes an image of the S2, revealing its design. On the front is a curved display with a punch-hole in the center for the selfie camera. Around the back is a horizontally aligned camera island, housing two cameras and a circular flash.
On the vivo S2's right side frame, made of plastic, are the volume rocker and power button. At the top are the secondary mic and speaker.
vivo previously said that the S2 will have a flagship-inspired design, power-packed performance, stunning photography and videography, and an immersive audio-visual experience, but hasn't divulged anything regarding that yet.
However, if a recent leak is to be believed, the vivo S2 will come with the Dimensity 7360 Turbo SoC, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, OriginOS 6, and a 6.83" 120Hz AMOLED display of 1.5K resolution.
The primary camera on the rear, joined by a 2MP unit, will use a 50MP Sony IMX582 sensor, while the selfie camera will employ a 32MP sensor. The vivo S2 will be fueled by a 7,050 mAh battery with 44W charging support. The smartphone will also have IP68 and IP69 ratings, and it's rumored to have a launch price of between INR40,000 and INR45,000.
