Samsung is giving the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 five years of updates
Yesterday during its big Unpacked event in London, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2. Both of these are going to receive five major OS upgrades as well as five years of security updates, the company has now confirmed.

They are going to be released on August 7 running Wear OS 7 and Samsung's own One UI 9 Watch on top. Older Samsung Galaxy Watches were promised four major OS upgrades and four years of security updates, and the company hasn't updated that promise. So if you want the maximum amount of support for your Galaxy Watch, you need to buy one of the newest models.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 has a 1.52-inch Super AMOLED display with 498x498 resolution, 5,000-nit peak brightness, and a sapphire crystal on top. It's powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The watch features a titanium frame, and it's certified for IP68 and IP69K dust and water resistance, it's MIL-STD-810H compliant, and is rated for diving up to 40m. It has an 800 mAh battery which charges wirelessly at 10W.
The Galaxy Watch9 comes in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm. It's powered by the same chipset as the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and has the same amount of RAM, but it has 32GB of storage. The smaller model boasts a 1.34-inch Super AMOLED screen with 438x438 resolution and a 390 mAh battery, while the larger one has a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED screen with 480x480 resolution and a 445 mAh battery. Both displays have 3,000-nit peak brightness and both batteries charge wirelessly at 10W.

My Watch 4 has also become trash after One UI 8 update. I can not use my favorite watch face anymore, battery life is 30% less after latest update. The only thing they fixed after 3 whole years was that when I put on my watch I don't have to inp...

And that's why I'm still on my Galaxy Watch 3 Titanium ... With Tizen, but that's better imho. Samsung should've kept Tizen on watch.
