My Oneplus 12 with Snapdragon 8 gen 3 is laggin as hell. Imagine walking with this phone. Its like Samsung Galaxy S2 experience.

mobile phone 2, 28 Jul 2026i test it and it works so your argument not validTested on couple employees huawei phones too, dont work.

Don't get a Pura. Huawei ended the dual flagships strategy and all focusing on the Mate series. Pura is more like Samsung's Fan series using stripped down Mate parts
"Good battery life" yet it barely edges out the iPhone air by 19 minutes ?? Am i missing something here ?
IpsDisplay, 29 Jul 2026Of course Samsung has a fully functional phone I wonder why?? Does Samsung have any sancti... moreThey are just another company and have to deal with their own r&d like any company. They have no luxury to impose customers to pay extra for their costs. Nodody bought Nokia phones to liberate Finland, nobody bought blackberry to liberate the UK, nobody bought apple to liberate the USA and nobody will buy huawei to liberate china
What's their reason for not using an fingerprint scanner under the display? They have had them before and honor also uses them. Is it somehow related to sanctions?
If not, maybe they prefer the physical scanner on the side, and I kind of agree. Capacitive sensors are still slightly faster and often a little more reliable. Importantly however, they give tactile feedback so you know where to place your finger without having to look at it. Overall, I don't mind a scanner on the side at all and would even consider it a selling point.
YUKI93, 29 Jul 2026Hmmm... idk though, but the Pura 80 Ultra is still a much more unique predecessor compared to ... morei think they meant this one for who hasnt upgrade last 3 years ago
the main event is MATE 90 and they used this phone fuss to prepare people for their next true flagship performer
Anonymous, 29 Jul 2026without gms...FAILEDwithout TMS .... is total successful
you like TMS go for honor .... same everything but with TMS touches
without gms...FAILED
Hmmm... idk though, but the Pura 80 Ultra is still a much more unique predecessor compared to this. I'm more than happy to take longer zoom reach over triple-digit camera sensor resolution.
The chipset performance, however, is absolutely questionable. Never mind Google's Tensor G5 performed much better than the Kirin 9030S, especially in both 3DMark and sustained throttling test, even last year's Kirin 9020 showed better result. Sorry, Huawei - I'm afraid it's a huge pass for me this time. I'd be much better off with the Pura 80 Ultra or even the Pura 70 Ultra instead.
yalim, 28 Jul 2026That doesn't give them the right to con people with overpriced inferior devices. Samsung ... moreOf course Samsung has a fully functional phone
I wonder why?? Does Samsung have any sanctions against them? Can Samsung use lithograph machines without any issues???
At least Huawei has an argument to want more money to deal with R&D .. research that could liberate the entire nation of China to maybe one day have their alternative to lithograph machines
Huawei is just some few steps from being the top minus American influence. Just a few steps away. America thought they had killed the greatest innovator company on earth but they were wrong.
Anonymous, 28 Jul 2026Maybe some people just want the best camera phone on the market? No matter what anyone says, ... moreWtf do you know about vivo vs huawei camera difference youtube guy? Huawei degraded their main sensor twice already since pura 70. Vivo beats new huawei it in every category. Literally. Get both phones in your hand and test them in real life tests to see... Don't watch random youtube reviews.
IpsDisplay, 28 Jul 2026Well I mean they need every penny to deal with sanctions against them .. getting engineers to ... moreExactly
Anonymous, 28 Jul 2026Maybe some people just want the best camera phone on the market? No matter what anyone says, ... more"Maybe some people just want the best camera phone on the market?"
That's totally understandable. Why would they look at Huawei though? :)
Full size comparison samples in reproducible scenarios is what matters, and that's where the difference becomes apparent. I'm tired of talking about the AI plastic slop which comes from huawei's camera, but here it is...
"EMUI isn't full of bugs like Xiaomis, Vivos, etc."
You have to be kidding right? It's as bad if not worse. Although HyperOS is pretty bad to be fully honest...
adsubzero, 28 Jul 2026Ok so I didn't realize there were 2 versions - the 90s Pro Max, which is supposedly globa... moreMaybe some people just want the best camera phone on the market? No matter what anyone says, even Vivo doesn't stack up to Huawei in real life usage - colours, moving subjects, video, etc. You can watch some comparisons on Youtube. For those of us who care about camera and know how to google microg+aurora store, this is a great phone. Huaweis tend to be rock solid for years. There are still a lot of people using the P30 Pro. And EMUI isn't full of bugs like Xiaomis, Vivos, etc. Not everything is about benchmarks!
Aierlan, 28 Jul 2026I wouldn't get it but the pricing is very competitive. The Pura 80 ultra started at 10000... moreI don't think looking at MSRP prices is relevant. Lets actually consider about what Huawei did with the phone, since they didnt drop the price out of charity, its basically a lower-tier phone.
Pura 80 Ultra had a 1 inch main sensor and a complex dual lens periscope setup (even though poorly implemented). The 90 Pro Max drops down to a smaller main sensor, removes the dual telephoto lenses, and swaps for a single cheaper 4x lens. On top of that, they downgraded the base model from 16/512 to 12/256, switched from under display optical scanner on the 80 Ultra to power button integrated one. They even removed video output capability from the USB port. You're getting a worse phone masked as a discount lol.
Furthermore, it shouldn't be worth even that. Their inhouse chipset is much worse and cheaper than qualcomm's, they use lower tier display panels, they use cheaper camera sensors (I mean omnivision isn't inherently bad, though it's cheaper, but smartsens definitely doesn't have the top of the line quality). If you're not a hardcore fanboy I just don't see the appeal... The funniest part is seeing these shills/bots push Huawei under the guise of getting rid of Google "bloatware" and trading it for Huawei's own bloat
