Oppo and Vivo are cooking this year, beating Xiaomi and leaving Huawei trailing far behind. Who would have thought?
It looks like gsmarena folks got used to oversharpened video. Get a Sony A7s video and compare it side to side 4k60. Default settings.
Do the same on log. Check difference in detail. (or "sharpness", as you call it)

Btw, surprising the magic AI doesn't correct chroma abberations more on these (table, tripod and around the windows). Gives the photos a likeable old-school look, though. 😊

and Vivo review comes after 1-2 months after updates))
Excellent cameras. Nothing else.
Nice, better than the Oppo Find X9 Ultra!
The two Sony sensors rule!
The Samsung 200MP 16 same color cluster pixel is meh, but at least it looks better compared to the OV52A.
The 25 MP night shoots look amassing, to bad Oppo didn't wanted to add this must have feature, as well.
So worse zoom aperture than the X200U and zero real upgrades besides the main sensor... 🥱
Also, no camera button on this 'camera focused phone' like on the X200U and no shortcut key from the X300 Pro + weaker selfie cam compared to the X300 Pro too.
Meh colors: cheap X300s dual tone green, greasy white glass back and boring black.
And, as always from Vivo Ultra's: trash battery life despite large battery capacity... 💀
Gsmarena, it would be great, if your smartphone camera reviews could compare high zoom factor photos with a reference like the Panasonic Tz99 or Nikon P1100. At high zoom factors there is often a lot of AI with fake detail, so a reference is needed.
It's pretty spectacular. I may get it after a year used. I have proper cameras and lenses and absolutely do not need it, yet want it. The 35mm primary lens have definitely got me.

no thank you.
Excellent phone, excellent cameraphone, but not even close to upgrade fom X200 Ultra.

that's his opinion and you're talking about it ruining his credibility so i ask again, judging by what the past "enhancements" they liked as well, how are they already not ruined in terms of credibility?
and if you think raw lighting sucks then LOL you're either an "enlightened" individual or a proper good troll, i salute you mate 🫡

Just gonna stress gpu for nothing. Also you can out 1220p , but does not mean you can use it. Gonna render 1080p.

I ordred it (import of course), but i can say that vids taken with my Xiaomi 14 ultra are better... Vivo vids (since 100,200 and now 300 series) lacks of sharpness and look upscaled. Disappointing.
But you have a lot of tweak settings to play for. Unlike the X9U, when you apply a filter to the video, it doesn’t drop back down to 1080p... you can shoot in 4K with your own modified settings, and not just in 'pro' mode. I don’t understand why this option doesn’t exist on the X9U (nor on my X14U)
