Good phone for the price. Ignore the haters, they can't stand anything that's designed outside of the biggest e-waste country in the world.
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2026in case you are confused software and cameras are a part of the specs and neither are great hereIn case you are confused the review says "Clean, fast and visually unique Nothing OS experience.". Where do you get software is not great? Have you tried it? Maybe you don't like it. That's fine. We all are entitled to our own preferences. Maybe your definition of 'greatness' is different than mine, and your 'great' is not my 'great'.
I can't understand why people talk so high abut this phone.
Nigerian Prince, 02 Apr 2026After 2-3 years no update. Otherwise e wasteI'm using a Xiaomi phone which stopped getting updates at Android 12, still stuck with MIUI 12.5.
Still works great!
Silky smooth bug free experience.
Brands want to convince people like you that it's e-waste.
While the latest Realme/Samsung and even Xiaomi phones are slowing down with each update.

I mean, unique designs, flagship prices. Remember when they used ufs 2.2? Almost everybody hated it but some fans were defending this crappy decision

These folks are beyond repair.
They deserve the slowdowns that come with certain brands after each software update.

The main problem with their phones comes down to branding and its naming.
They've leant hard into their name, but what does it mean in terms of ownership? Would the user be nothing?
The semiotics of the hardware design is as far removed from first principle modernism as is possible so playing on technology getting out of the way as their name implies is moot. Everything comes across as a millenial realising they are actually a bit aged out and trying to appeal to the kids like a dad. Teenage Engineering do some decent mass market appealing products like the OB4 but the product design and specifications aren't appealing to potential customers in the same way.
Having no eSIM at this price point is a strange decision. It's not like Nothing doesn't know how to implement it - the 3a Pro & 4a Pro have it. It's just artificial product segmentation.

nothing special about this phone
Low brightness, low battery, big bezel, plastic body...nothing worth the asking price as usual.
They could’ve kept the two cameras of the 2a but no they needed to add an 8mp with the 3 and 4
And the lack of esim while the phone lacks silicon carbon batteries
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2026How is the Civi 14 or GT6 old? They have a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. That's like an old wine. Nambr 1 👋
Some people seem to focus only on raw specs. I did that for a long time as well, but specs are just one part of the overall experience of owning a phone. I got a Nothing 2a two years ago. It’s a plastic phone, but it’s very well built. I’ve used it without a case or any protection, and after two years it doesn’t show any scratches or dents, which I find amazing. I’ve had other “better” phones that didn’t age nearly as well. I have to say that I handle my phones with care, but that applies to all of them.
Nothing OS is also great, at least for me, but that’s not something you can see on a spec sheet. Design is very subjective, too. I understand that Nothing’s designs aren’t for everyone, but for some people, they really matter.
If you’re just looking for the best bang for your buck, this might not be it. But if you want something different and value the overall experience, not just raw performance, I’d say Nothing phones are quite interesting, more than their specs suggest.
If you want a brand outside of China and at the same time the best possible display in the PWM parameter, you actually have no other choice than Nothing :)
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2026In the context of OS updates, anyway.FYI Phones don't stop working after OS updates end.
A budget Samsung phone with 6 years of software updates, but running Exynos 1300 will age worse than a Realme GT6 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
It will still run smoothly 6 years down the line.
