Mkskdk, 31 Dec 2025You would be an absolute fool to buy this over a Fold 7 or even Fold 5 or 6!Amazing phones. I had the Huawei mate 50 pro for 3 years in the uk. Great phone. Little compromise. Amazing photos. Well ahead of the competition. Huawei cloud was easy to access. The US sanction is now just words from a 2 bit player in the world. The US does not control much so I see this company getting better and better. I now have the Vivo fold 5x. Got the Chinese ROM for only £800. A bargain for such quality.

Zero, 22 hours agoNot for foldables... in the Z Flip, the latest Snapdragon and Exynos can't maintain decen... moreThe comparison to this would be the Fold7, which has better stability and better handling of clock speeds while still being twice as fast as this phone. And yes. the Flip7 also shows the same characteristics, it STILL performs better than this phone. Keep in mind that this doesn't have Google Services so it technically has an advantage too. Not to mention, nobody knows if Huawei's benchmark results are accurate except for Huawei themselves. The real performance may be even worse than seen here, there's no way to check that.

Since the US ban on Huawei having access to google and other US and its allies created technological software, with the chief objective to bring down the brand in favour of Apple and other brands belonging to its allies, the usual refrain which follows any smartphone or tablet device release by Huawei Technologies is the lack of pre-installed Google Apps and work tools on its released smartphone and tablet devices.
Whereas, it is a fact that, Huawei Technologies has since moved beyond the US ban and forge successfully ahead to make its smartphones and other smart devices even more efficient and durable, clearly indicating that it does not require US or its allies created technological software tools to achieve any breakthrough.
Therefore, the question that may be asked is, can Huawei Technologies do without Google Apps and other software tools made in the US and companies belonging to its allies, the emphatic answer is a bold YES or in the affirmative.
Indeed, Huawei smartphones, foldables or conventional, do not require Google Apps, Gmail, Playstore, to be either a functional or an efficient smart device.
Whereas, there are equivalent of such Apps in Huawei smartphones, and such equivalent Apps are even better in terms of their functionality and efficiency and effectiveness with respect to productivity.
The bottom line is that such usual refrain aforementioned is being propagated by the Western Press and analysts in the West having a bias against anything Huawei.
Such bias and US and Western-centric sentiments and stance will never work, as the Chinese themselves view and consider Huawei smartphones and other smart devices superior in many features to Apple iPhones, iPads etc and Samsung Galaxy smartphones, tablets etc.
That readily explains why Huawei has been able to bounce back and relegate Apple, Samsung to the background in China.
And the rest of the world outside the West has taken note of that, and would gladly go for Huawei smartphones and its other smart devices made to sync efficiently into its newly created robust, innovative ecosystem which , in their firm opinion, serve as a more efficient alternative to other brands pre-installed with Google Apps etc.
Huawei Technologies Co. has shown that with sheer resilience, will and commitment to achieving a set goal, there is no man-made obstacle that can detail the progress of either a natural person or an artificial entity.
And such a person and, or entity is condemned to not only succeed or thrive but also to dominate its rival or rivals within his/its sphere of operation or business.

10x zoom isnt so good, vivo x fold5 is still the best foldable if you want the best zoom. Huawei's 10x looks upscaled.
Still, a shame I dont see hi res samples, somedo produce better hi res than zoom in stills, so it wpuld be worth seeing it, especially knowing that Huawei is good in hi res stills.
On the other hand, despite almost no one testing this. Huawei does good in using AI to edit, like editing faces, handa etc, or so I believe... so this is a good alternative for samsung folds, since it also supports pen amd its tele is still better than 10mp 1/4" Samsung got.
I like how Huawei tries to combat colors to be more precise, but ryyb sensor gives them quite a challenge...
Still, even with all that advantages over zfold7, it stull lack in battery endurance, where despite some being at 12 to 13h on wifi, even bigger batteries are in rumors.
Next 3 moths will be interesting.

Melvin Harris, 23 hours agoHardware is a crap too. Just look at the stability test. Even Scamsung makes better chipsets.Not for foldables... in the Z Flip, the latest Snapdragon and Exynos can't maintain decent performance... except the Z Flip 5 which is the ONLY decent iteration of the Z Flip.
And in the Fold case there are Z Fold 4 and 5. Both maintain decent thermals. 6 normal edition is decent too, but the slim one... ugh...
