The only way to get the Google Play Store full GMS experience is with microG and the Aurora Store. Check first if Huawei already installed microG then install Aurora Store. The downloads are full-size and the store seems ad-free unlike apk websites.

Pura 80 Ultra's low-light photos, from what I can tell from the samples on the internet, appear to offer no image quality advantage over those of its competitors. In fact, the X300 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Find X9 Pro all seem to perform do a better job than P80U in terms of colour accuracy, and BBK still has the X300 Ultra and Find X9 Ultra up its sleeve.

You only seem to be interested in supporting a particular phone brand for the sake of supporting them, though, so I don't think there would be any point in us having a discussion over this particular topic.

Looking at the telephoto camera samples, there is no doubt AI is in play here, just by looking at faraway texts and the grass.

CPU scores are not even close (which is wild considering the Tensor G5 is pretty weak already), GPU score is fine, lowest GPU score though is half of the Tensor G5, meaning the Kirin 9030 must have awful throttling behaviour. In Antutu it wins but Antutu is a chinese app, make of that what you will but it sure is suspect that it somehow is the only benchmarking app where the Huawei chip wins.

Because they started this whole "Yellow pixels are a superior alternative to green pixels" campaign with the P30 series, and they lost their timing to walk back on that statement years ago?

RYYB CFA will ALWAYS be less colour accurate than RGGB CFA because:
                      1. It needs to calculate green colour values (which are necessary to construct full RGB image) based on the values recorded by yellow and red pixels, which would naturally increase the colour crosstalk - Essentially, it has an extra stage of colour interpolation before the demosaicing process.

                      2. Yellow pixels almost always saturate faster than red pixels because, to simply put, they are sensitive to both green and red lights. This means that the sensor would need to be exposed for the yellow pixels (Because when they saturate, using them to calculate green values would no longer be possible), and this shortens the exposure time which will in turn limit the amount of light that reaches blue and red pixels. Less light = More noise, and increased noise level in blue and red channels will have a direct negative consequence on colour accuracy.

Mkskdk, 31 Dec 2025You would be an absolute fool to buy this over a Fold 7 or even Fold 5 or 6!Amazing phones. I had the Huawei mate 50 pro for 3 years in the uk. Great phone. Little compromise. Amazing photos. Well ahead of the competition. Huawei cloud was easy to access. The US sanction is now just words from a 2 bit player in the world. The US does not control much so I see this company getting better and better. I now have the Vivo fold 5x. Got the Chinese ROM for only £800. A bargain for such quality.

And yes. the Flip7 also shows the same characteristics, it STILL performs better than this phone. Keep in mind that this doesn't have Google Services so it technically has an advantage too. Not to mention, nobody knows if Huawei's benchmark results are accurate except for Huawei themselves. The real performance may be even worse than seen here, there's no way to check that.

4.1 is generous. Sadly this will probably sell a decent number of units in China.
