LGs , 12 Nov 2025Nope, 3+3, but in EU 5 year.Where did you get that info from?
I have contacted nubia on the 8th of november and their response was 1 year OS update and 3 years security updates.

"The company has not made a big deal out of the Z80 Ultra's update policy, so we'll have to remain skeptical."
It's 1 year OS and 3 Years Security. Those dreadful software support should be highlighted in the Cons section of the review imo.

typical zte dead out of the box with still no proper software support and they try to call it a 2025 flagship with 2015 mindset. they never care about their customers. no reason to care about them either.
1 year android OS and 3 years of security updates. That's what nubia team answer was when I asked them a few days ago about the nubia z80 ultra update policy.
Like Huawei, ZTE is being excluded from 5G communication standards in the US and EU, so I'm concerned that just using it carries risks.
There's no end to the risks, but all Chinese-made smartphones could face the same that.
I like it! Great screen with propper squared corners, no holes or pills, nice back design, amazing battery. All I want from a phone is here. I don't care about camera so much, never use a selfie one, and don't care about gaming, so basicly this phone has no cons for me.

There are good things about this phone, but camera-wise it seems kinda a letdown. The main camera is good only because of the resolving power of the large sensor, but you can clearly see a lot of artificial post-processing and sharpening is involved on the smaller sensors.
The colours are also a bit too saturated for my liking.
Anonymous, 12 Nov 2025Why phone manufacturers add and then remove the variable aperture from their phones? Why they ... moreProbably because they didn't see much demand for it. And also isn't variable aperture just artificially blurring the background? That's basically what it is on the Xiaomi camera app.

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2025No con for throttling? The throttling is expected behaviour, the 63°C on the surface maybe not as expected.. we're gonna need to wait for more testing on other SD gen 5 devices to see how they fare on that regard, but it looks kinda on dangerous territory.
Well they do need to honor the EU 5 year mandate which probably means 2 OS updates at best, 1 + 4 years of security patches at worst...

Since the days when these prices were 'normal' are nothing but a distant memory, I'm glad we're seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, even more so taking into account the fact that there's no notch or punch hole ruining the view of that light
