Good, balanced review.
Honor foldables are impressive pieces of hardware, and their macro are some of the best.. impressive how close they can get a focus lock.
Not sure what is going on with their brightness claims, as they are a little tricky to get activated...worth noting that there is a sun-max setting in dev-mode when that is activated, but not sure if it makes a difference.
but Honor do tend to be anything but "honest" on some of their specs... same with thiness, and weight, but then again, since V2 and sub 1cm cat. these models-.. are thin and relatively light for a foldable.
Not that big a fan of the round camera module on V3 and V5 that also protrudes a lot, like up to around 15.8mm... think V2 look'ed better and only protrude to around 13.4mm.
Also quite fascinated with the main sensor in V2, as it claims to be an RGB+W sensor from Sony flagship fusion blending IMX8xx line.
Where you take white/clear pixels and add those to increase luminance, that benefits signal to noise ratio (SNR) and increases dynamic range and low-light performance.
Would rank their main sensor.
1* V2 Sony IMX866 RGB+W (flagship graded sensor)
2* V5 Sony IMX906 RGGB (high midrange sensor)
3* V3 Omnivision OV50E RGGB (midrange sensor)
They are all 50MP, with 1.0um pitch and get up aroundan x4 2.0um with quad bayer binning or fusion blending.
but one thing is to use an RGB+W sensor, another thing is how well implemented it is.. Blackmagic got soem good articles on their 12K model and the use of RGBW sensor..
Another thing that on paper also seems like a downgrade from V2, is that multizone laser array that V2 claims to have for its full camera matrix.
with 64 laser points to create depth map..called 8x8dTOF module.. both V3 and V5 seems to rely on a single laser point.
'they all use phase detection AF (PDAF)
this laser multizone array in V2 its not on fx Ipad/Iphone Pro lidar level, as Apple uses like hundreds of dTOF points for its depth map, also dont think there is any thirdparty apps that lets the user work with that multizone 64-point laser module found in V2.
Its positive to see that Honor now promises 7Y Alpha plan for their flagship foldable devices.. V2, V3, V5 and fx V6 etc. but worth noting that its only in EU + UK on european/global units..

As a honor foldable phone series user experience, thinking their foldable screen has to improve since I have to do inner screen replacement twice just within 2 and half years. Their inner screen durability cannot survive more than 14months and screen bleeding happened just in time after warranty period. Inner screen cost more than 600$ almost similar to the cost to purchase a new middle range phone. So disappointed.

Lol, oppo also does support pen and it has better water resistance certification, so I don't know what you are talking about in summary section.

While the phone is indeed good and as comparable to the v3, I noticed the testing here is somewhat botched.
Who does everyday testing use on 'Performance mode'?
Even Samsung Fold 7 users don't.
Be fair and do the tests on everyday, normal people usage.
However, that said, the main comparison chart is also missing V3, and Find N3.
These 2 are still going strong despite just 1 year old and peepz could also take these if they find the current prices a little absurdly pricey.

It has the best battery life, and it's not an iPhone or Samsung. Get over it.

Huawei/Honor back at it again with those Cubist art camera filters!
Aside from that, it is a pretty nice foldable, design and usability wise.

As a V2 V3 user I am skipping on this one. And the camera ring is fugly in my opinion. V3 had it perfectly designed without any unnecessary elements of design/text/textured details. So it's probably another V3 after current one or back to Sammy

lol everyone complains about battery life.. if Xiaomi has bad battery life it's normal because it's unoptimized bla bla.. but here everyone complains to GSMArena not to Honor optimization.
