The Nothing Phone (4b) has a long-lasting battery, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip and a Glyph Bar
The Nothing Phone (4b) is here – the company says that this is the Nothing phone with the longest-lasting battery yet. That said, (b) is not an upgrade over (a) – this goes somewhere between the (4a) and the (3a) Lite.
The (4b) features a 5,200mAh battery in its global configuration – that is enough for 22 hours of continuous video streaming. India is getting a different version with a larger 6,000mAh battery. In both cases it supports 33W wired-only charging and 7.5W reverse charging.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. This gives it a leg up over the Phone (3a) Lite with its Dimensity 7300 Pro, but keeps it behind the Phone (4a) with its Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (the 6 Gen 4 is essentially the same silicon, just downclocked). For reference, the (3a) Lite has an MSRP of €250/£250, while the (4a) is €350/£380/₹40,000.
While we’re on the topic of price, the Nothing Phone (4b) launches at €330/£300/₹35,000. It’s available for pre-order from Nothing.tech and comes in White, Black and Blue. Only an 8/128GB configuration is available in most regions and, unlike the (3a) Lite, there is no microSD slot. Note that in India the phone will be sold through Flipkart and will have an 8/256GB option (₹39,000) as well. Either way, the phone uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
The (4b) has a 6.77” OLED display with 1080p+ resolution that is very similar but not identical to the (3a) Lite display. This is a 120Hz panel that can do 1,200 nits in outdoor mode and has a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The display is protected by Dragontrail Pro Glass.
The main camera on the back has a small 50MP 1/2.76” sensor and an f/1.8 lens with OIS. It is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide (1/4” sensor, f/2.2 lens) with 120° FoV. The main camera can record 4K video at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps.
Like the (4a), there is a Glyph Bar on the back – four white LEDs and one red one. These are used to display timers, as a recording light and more (customizable in Nothing OS). The selfie camera is a 16MP unit (1/3”, f/2.4) with an 82° lens.
The (4b) is a dual-SIM phone, though only Japan seems to be getting an eSIM option. It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC (except in India). Positioning is done via single-channel GPS. There are stereo speakers and two microphones on board, but no 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other notable details include an IP64 rating. This officially promises only splash protection. However, internal testing has trialed the phone for submersion and it survived under 25cm for 20 minutes.
Anyway, the in-display fingerprint reader is the optical kind. The company promises a physical proximity sensor. The Essential Key on the side can trigger Essential Voice, Essential Search and various AI-powered applications.
The Nothing Phone (4b) launches with Nothing OS 4.1 out of the box (based on Android 16). It will receive OS updates for 3 years and security patches for 6 years.
