Google has started rolling out an updated version of the Gemini app for iOS. Users on Reddit shared images of the updated user interface, which features several visual changes. The start screen now features an animated background with a backdrop behind the search text box.

In addition, the plus (+) button now opens a longer set of search options, including images, camera input, music, canvas, deep research, guided learning, and a “more uploads” tab, which can use files and NotebookLM resources. This being the iOS version, you also get Liquid Glass design elements with semi-transparent bits.
The updated Gemini app UI is currently rolling out to some iOS users. It is expected to make its way to Android eventually, but Google has not confirmed a detailed schedule for now.
