Big No, it's too much costly

I actually used both the LG Shine and LG Chocolate! Honestly, if the Chocolate phone were released today, it’d still look super stylish.

To be fair, I do see plenty of cases where people have owned the same foldable for years without any issues, and given how little I use my device when out and about, I guess I'd probably be fine too. But that lingering worry would always be there for me.
Ultimately, I’m not here to tell anyone how to spend their money; there are more than enough people on this site who take great peasure doing that already. So, for those picking up a Fold 8, Ultra, or Flip 8, I genuinely hope you love your choice and get great value out of it. It’s just not for me.

It's about 3 to 4 years of usage already. That's of course promised something about realibility which included durability. Nothing I can justify more when you go with your choice. You absolutely can save good amount of money anyway.

My main issue right now aside for my durability concerns is that I don't need a smartphone that turns into a tablet. Out in the real world, all you see is people glued to screens. While I appreciate having a smartphone as a quick tool to get things done, I actively ensure it doesn't take over my life. If a standard 6 to 7-inch screen isn't enough for me while I'm out, I'd honestly rather rethink my priorities than carry a foldable.
That’s simply my take though, for those who enjoy that form factor, more power to them!
Rupendra, 27 Jul 2026Sure they will make one made to measure for you right ;)Tailorising a unit to meet one person request is impossible for smartphone Industries. Let's say they could fulfill it the price gonna extremely high. Do you think it will only twice the market price? I am doubt.

GAMIR3DH, 26 Jul 2026If it has Under Display Camera... I would have traded in my S25 Ultra.Isn't the image out of it worse than the regular one? Looks like you have no issue with that. I understand, aesthetic is also important but should it be a deal breaker I have no more argument to provide. It's your choice and right based on your personal perspective.

I believe they know how to take care this expensive unit. Most of them are good financially and make replacement isn't an issue in case they damage the device accidentally. Sure what you worry about the device will get attention from the manufacturer as part of upgrades in the next Generation.

The size of the phone isn't big deal and you will get used to it over time. Just like when we come from feature phone to the nonfold smartphone.
What these phones showed me is how much I want a small wide slab flagship from Samsung specifically.
Just make a slab with the best qualcomm chip, the same 5.5" 16:10 screen, throw in some cameras, an S Pen, a decent sized battery and price and you have a customer right here.
Cpt.Power, 26 Jul 2026Well like with every foldable since Royale Flexpai to Z fold 1 to other brands foldables even ... moreAgreed. Given the higher price point for compromised specifications and durability, foldables remain an area I'm content to observe from afar. I'll stick with traditional slab phones until foldables offer equivalent quality and specs at a comparable price.
Im pretty much set on the Ultra, but due to strong demand, Im going to miss the Aug 7th delivery date which was important. Unfortunate, but it means I no longer have to rush the purchase. I can use this time to test the wide model through August because I was definitely intrigued after seeing it on Friday. Now I have a itch that needs to be scratched.
Afterwards, I will get the Ultra later on when they raise the trade-in for the Z6 back to $1100.
