Luckily for carriers, manufacturers and phone salesmen, the average consumer can't do elementary school math or basic reasoning skills.
Also, T-Mobile and O2, which have better networks/coverage are "like 50+ eur" instead of "like 22 eur".
I too can buy a 17 pro max, with 2 TB storage, whenever I'd wish to. And do it every year or more often. But I've got enough intelligence and math skills to not waste 1000 € on an idiotic storage upgrade that the manufacturer pays "like 50" for and I choose to use my money for things that do make sense.

Yeah, right, like I've got nothing better to do. Time is money and I certainly won't waste mine on such nonsense to get measly 15 GB and manage a thousand accounts, and certainly won't upload any of my photos to damn Google servers.

There's other reasons too. Regardless, that's exactly the case for microSD slots. The manufacturer makes just one 256 GB variant to save themselves and the consumer money, anyone who wants/needs more buys themselves a card. You're just too brainwashed to understand it or are playing dumb because you make money off those who are too poorly informed and gullible to make intelligent buying decisions and support consumer-friendly features.

Over price, not flagship camera sensors,battery capacity and life are terrible I am not gonna buy any foldable/flip until these 3 issues they resolve.

Everythin... moreGrandma had a Flip5, took care of it, always had it with a case on. Last Saturday screen died, couldn’t wait for the 8 to be stocked.
CS guy said foldable screens are more reliable nowadays, sales person claimed the S26 ultra would be a better choice than any foldable. In another store we were told the Razr Fold is better in every aspect.

I found that older people tend to like the larger foldables because they work much better with large fonts than the usual sized phones.

Well phones are costly but thats country dependable.
Someone from Switzerland or Luxemburg can buy even a 17 pro max from single salary for him self even for several other people in household.
So yes all is country salary dependable but most casual people dont needs more than 128GB or 256GB.

Somewhere in Zanzibar for example even Iphone 5 bought as a second hand phone for 30 eur will be very costly and overpriced.
And i am not speaking about poorest country on earth which is North Sudan where people have to live from 0,20eur a day.
In other words yes phones are costly but people can always earn more by finding better paid job or work some overtimes or buy on a carrier mpnthly plan where final phone price is divided by 12 or 24 months. In other words even something like 17 pro max will cost maybe a 50-70 eur a month.
And like i said 128GB or 256 is more than enough unless person making all photos and videos in 8K or uses his phone as a TV and have downloaded from internet several hundreds of movies.

Obviously (perhaps not to everyone 🤷♂️), the purpose of a memory card is not just to copy data and admire the copying speeds 🤣, but to have data they want to have always accessible, to never have to think about not having enough storage etc. Also to freely choose how much storage they need/want without having to buy a whole new insanely overpriced phhone.
And obviously, as a phone salesman you'd have interests on your mind other than what benefits the consumer.

What "era of 2TB phones" are you hallucinating (read: lying) about? How many 2 TB phones are there? iPhone Pro Max and what else? The ~1750 GB there also cost 1000 € extra to the already ridiculous Pro Max price so for two generations of that extra storage price an intelligent person gets a big microSD card, uses it in any and the next phone(s) with a card slot plus a 32 TB NAS so they don't need to use the usual overpriced cloud providers nor pay ridiculous surcharges for phone storage.
Data plans also aren't unlimited and can get costly, much more than a nice simple memory card, cell coverage isn't always perfect... It's always better to have the option of additional cheap storage than to not have it. Unless when one is a phone salesman, those benefit from people buying new phones to have more storage and paying extra every time they buy a phone. 🤣

Everything works perfect. I had 1 drop on asphalt and 3 days ago a drop in sand so my USB port was filled with sand, but a quick shake removed all sand and everything is OK now.

But back to reality. Nowdays certain people even if they would have a 2TB disk inside their phone they would still be bragging for SD cards.
I really dont know why because connecting USB to another device via USB C a fast one lets say 3.0 would instantly transfer any data on said phone.
No matter the brand no card on market would surpas power of USB 3.0 or better.
And is much easier to innovate and make faster cables and disks also by my opinion they upgate more often than a memory cards.

If what you expect can turn into reality. The only way to achieve it without spending to much cost is by making all the phone internal's connector with socket. So components like SOC, RAM, Storage and any else can be replaced easily without the needs of hot tin anymore. But I found this will still be only rumor in the future unless brand new manufacture starts it.

I get what you're saying, and as I mentioned, I’d likely be fine from a durability standpoint with my usage. But the reality remains that a more complex device with extra moving parts and a softer screen is inherently less durable and paying extra to accept that trade-off just isn't worth it to me right now.
That said, if I were to ever consider a foldable, it’d definitely be a Flip. A standard screen (in that 6–7 inch range) that folds down for compactness makes sense for how I operate—unlike a Fold, which takes an already large, heavy device and doubles its size for no real benefit to me.
Foldables remain a category I’d rather watch from afar for now, even though they’re improving constantly across pretty much every metric and could easily become the dominant form factor one day. For me right now, though, it’s simply paying more money for reduced durability with little to no increase in usability.
But yes, I do accept your point 👍

I gave my old Flip 3 to my kid, and its still rocking. The only damage are some paint scuffs on the outside as I dropped it few times by accident - yes I carry them without case. To that end, the Flip3 are plenty surprise myself when it comes how tough they're. I think it the charm of Flip where main screen is always protected. However, I'm not sure if I can say the same with the Fold as I have not used on yet.
And when it comes to the bigger inner screen foldable (Fold), it always comes down to - if you want to view a content on a bigger screen, you can. It never meant to be compete with tablet, nor it never marketed as one, unlike Apple iPad. Which Apple intended to replace with laptop for basic work/browsing.
My take, the Flip are pocketable of normal phones which will easily fit in your pocket with out concern of bent it or too large. And with the Fold, it a pocketable normal size phone that has the option of expand to bigger screen if so desired. If none of these appeals to you, then foldable phone is not for you. As above, durability should not be a concern, at least for Samsung.

I think the Z Tri-Fold should have been an option in this survey, because I eighter would get the S26 Ultra or the Tri-Fold, for me these in-between options like the wide fold and the Fold8 Ultra just make no sense because if you mostly want to watch videos and pictures and don't want to multitask, then the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra just simply not worth it to get because the image on their displays will be insignificantly bigger than on the S26 Ultra.

If Flip 8 comes with Qualcomm in the EU, I wouldn't hesitate to get another one. I'm force to look at the Fold8, because of the Qualcomm and more usable 4:3 inner screen aspect ratio.

I believe that kind of world will come someday. Look at 3D printers. I couldn't have imagined it 10 or 20 years ago. It's amazing that we're living in the AI era now.

They are even more conservative due to the fire incident. Checking your phone battery using ADB is amazing. My S21PLUS is still normal. The problem is that the software has become too heavy. Korean applications are too heavy. It makes you change your phone.
