Could some Motorola phone also use this new Dimensity SoC?

Optimization matters just as much as the raw performance. I have had multiple phones with similar hardware.

          Redmi note 10 lite (Snapdragon 720G, 6/128)
          Redmi 11 prime (Helio G99, 6/128)
          Tecno Camon 40 (Helio G100, 8/128)
          Samsung A15 (Helio G99, 8/128)

Camon 40 and Samsung A15 runs much better than the two redmis I had. Granted, those two phones had lower ram. But still it showed me how much software optimization can influence system responsiveness.

Anything to move from dual A76, aka the eternal G99/D6300 is good in my book. Hope this will push quad A78 to the masses as the real baseline for smartphones.

Maybe has to do with the news that 4nm TSMC process and onwards is nearly taken at their full due AI madness and Mediatek has to resort to 6nm (yeah, this chip is made at 6nm). Since they have enough Dimensity 9500, 8500 and 9500e (to be released), it will be OK for them. The issue is that, even if they might release an underclock Dimensity 7100 as the 6500, there won't be any Dimensity 7500, unless they use the Dimensity 8300 stocks (which has enough), underclock it and sell it as Dimensity 7500...

hooha, 02 Jan 2026I think it is about paying royalty, A78 is a lot cheaper than A710 and other armv9 coreSo why G610 then. G68 wll be even cheaper then.

                      Happy New Year everyone.

Looks like a fine chip to me. Around the Exynos 1280 except for GPU.

I won't talk about Wi-Fi 7, but not even at least 6E in 2026! Let's hope they upgrade that part before 2049 because reaching 2050 with Wi-Fi 5 or 6 and ancient USB 2.0 on many phones would be embarrassing for these companies.

A78/55 shouls have been forgotten since mid 2024.

Hanif Fikri, 03 Jan 2026So you should obey whatever companies does then accept cortex a53 all cores because it's ... moreIt's a free market, though. There's people that don't care and then there are those that listen to paid/independent reviewers.
This chip will suffice for majority of normal users.
