The dream of a country (China) that has not invented any technology present in smartphones is to take over the smartphone market? These days, people have no respect for anyone's work, not even their own. All that matters is money, power, reach, and the charts.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2025Huawei has It's own factories for smartphone assembly? Aren't they actually made by... moreSome leaks (not confirmed) point to Huaqin, a company that supposedly not only takes care of the manufacturing of the phone, but also was responsible for the development process - Obviously take it with a pile of salt as this information came out of Weibo and nowhere else. Either way, Huawei is not relevant here.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 20253rd party assembling was the issue. Zenfone 8 was made at huawei and had same issue. According to an unofficial source, it's Huaqin that is looking after Xperia 1 VII's manufacturing process, not Huawei. Think about it for a moment, there's no way in hell that Huawei will let Sony use their facilities to produce Xperia lol.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2025LOL an issue this big shouldnt have happened in the first place, luckily they dont sell as muc... moreI agree, the issue should have not happen in the first place, but it seems that a batch of bad units that were sent...

How big is too big though? I don't know, we had bending phones that were never solved causing the phone to lose touch capability in the long term
We had some explosive ones, where sent replacement were also defective to the point of being forbidden on critical areas (planes for example)

But glad to see that in every Sony article, we always come to the same "SoNy sTOp MakInG SMarTpHOne"

Note 7 batterygate and iphone 4 antennagate, iphone 6/6s battery gate and worst of all, Galaxy S20 Ultra broken camera islands during the pandemic?

If such defect would be with iPhone then the fix will be much faster delivered: the fault is with the user, you keep the phone wrong.

                      🤣🤣

kinda sad that one of the OGs has not only started making worse value phones in general, but they cant even make functioning phones anymore.

Maybe its a good thing Sony phones are becoming a thing of the past.
