Motorola Android

Design, build quality, unboxing

The Moto G Stylus (2026) has Motorola's signature design, introduced back in 2024 with the Edge 50 series. It has been refined over the generations, but one thing remains constant - the single-piece back panel with a faux leather finish that rises gently to veil the cameras.

The Moto G Stylus (2026) has a flat Gorilla Glass 3 front panel, a comfortable plastic frame, and a plastic back with a leather-like finish that makes it incredibly grippy and smudge resistant.

The phone hasn't changed one bit since the 2025 version, but it comes in two new Pantone colors - Coal Smoke (ours), and Lavender Mist. The Moto G Stylus (2025), in comparison, is available in two different shades of blue called Gibraltar sea and Surf the Web.

The Moto G Stylus (2026) is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, just like its predecessor, but it is also IP69-rated for pressurized water jets resistance. The handset is also compliant with a couple of MIL-STD-810 standards for hazardous conditions such as transport shock, high humidity, temperature amplitudes, and more.

Since the new G Stylus is almost a copy-paste job from the previous one, it also measures and weighs about the same - 162.2 x 74.8 x 8.3mm and 192 grams. The size and weight are in line with most of the 6.7-inchers out there.

And now, let's take a close look at this new Moto.

The front is where you'd find the 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with high resolution and a high refresh rate. It has a small perforation for the 32MP selfie camera.

Above the screen is the earpiece that also doubles as a stereo speaker.

And beneath the display, around the bottom, is the optical fingerprint scanner that works as fast as those are capable nowadays.

The back is a familiar affair that never gets old - a grippy texture, the Moto logo at the center, and the camera island rising slowly from the back.

The four rings contain the 50MP primary shooter, the LED flash, the 13MP ultrawide camera, and, well, an empty circle. Indeed, the fourth spot is there for symmetry purposes only.

The frame is made of plastic and has mostly matte finish except for the thin glossy chamfers. On the left you can see the hybrid SIM slot where you can swap the second nano-SIM for a microSD card.

On the right, we find the volume keys, the power/lock key, and one of the microphones.

The top houses another microphone.

Finally, the bottom has the USB-C port, the primary microphone, the other stereo speaker, and the audio jack.

Also at the bottom is where the stylus slots in. It's quite typical - you press on the stylus; it clicks and gets out. It has a capacitor inside, and the bed is also its charger.

The stylus itself is long and thick enough to be a comfortable pen. It has one functional button and a clicker that gets addictive quickly.

The Motorola Moto G Stylus (2026) is a well-built smartphone with a sturdy build, solid ingress protection, and an outstanding grip.
