I think in India, where almost any premium phone worth its salt is now touching Rs 1 lakh, the Pixel 11 is a compelling offer from Google. It is not meant for dedicated and avid gamers, of course. But for everyone else, and more so for people who like a clean and reliable version of the latest Android on their devices, the Pixel 11 makes a lot of sense.

There’s a lot to like about the Google Pixel 11. Its display is simply phenomenal: bright, colour-accurate and beautifully responsive. The cameras are some of the best you can get for this kind of money, the Qi2.2 wireless charging is an excellent addition and those who are drawn to the siren’s call of on-device AI will find none better than Google’s own Gemini assistant. Performance and battery life, while quite far behind the competition, are reasonable enough that most users won’t feel the impact in daily use.

Underwhelmed by the hardware upgrades in the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL? Well, you may feel even more so after checking out the Google Pixel 11. This more accessible, mainstream Pixel smartphone offers even fewer upgrades from its predecessor, with the Google Tensor G6 chip probably the most impactful change here. Some of these “upgrades” seems to me like Google finally rectifying some arbitrary decisions to differentiate the standard Pixel from the higher-end versions.

In recent years, the Pixel has been transitioned from a phone with a really, really good camera to something closer to a showcase for Google's software and AI ecosystem. The Pixel 11 not only continues this approach but is probably its most cohesive expression yet. The hardware itself is familiar, from the display to the cameras. At a starting price of Rs. 89,999, Google's latest flagship faces brutal competition.

Google’s Pixel 11 is the most iPhone-friendly Android phone I’ve tested, and it’s priced competitively, especially if the camera is important to you. For $899, you can get a phone that has excellent image processing and a telephoto camera with impressive zoom. Everything the Pixel 11 does makes it an easy upgrade option if coming from a Pixel 8 or earlier, or even from Apple’s iPhone 14 series if you’re considering a switch from iOS.

The Google Pixel 11 delivers a solid and well-rounded camera experience, offering accurate and pleasant exposure, a wide dynamic range, and vivid colors with natural skin tones across a wide range of lighting conditions. Photo performance is particularly strong in bright light, where the camera produces a generally high level of detail while maintaining accurate subject exposure and generally fast and accurate autofocus.

In the end, the latest Pixel is a conundrum. It’s the most expensive standard Pixel model we’ve seen so far. Looking at this purely on the surface – and using UK pricing just as an example – last year’s cheapest Pixel 10 was £699. This year’s cheapest Pixel 11 is £879. Nearly £200 more. It is worth pointing out that the cheapest model now comes with 256GB storage, not 128GB like last time, and if you’re to compare the prices of the previous 256GB model with this one, the price increase is a much more palatable £80.

This concludes our Pixel 11 and iPhone 17 camera comparison. Both smartphones perform nearly identically across scenarios, with a minor difference in how they handle colours, details, dynamic range, and exposure. The Pixel 11 generally delivers better exposure, dynamic range and colour consistency across its cameras. It also performs particularly well in low-light conditions, where it handles highlights and noise better than the iPhone 17.

With another year around the sun comes another round of Google Pixel smartphones for us to enjoy. This year’s release of the Google Pixel 11 series of phones brings a continuation of what we already saw last year. When releasing a new smartphone year after year, it’s often difficult to introduce something truly groundbreaking and original.

I haven't used an Android phone full-time for a few years, and I really enjoyed my time with the Pixel 11. Many of the AI-powered features Google has developed here feel genuinely useful — I don't care about making images with Nano Banana, but anything that helps me organize and stay on top of my chaotic life is welcome. Photography remains a strength and I hope Apple feels some pressure to add a third lens to the basic iPhone 18.

AI made your next phone more expensive. Google’s counterargument is that AI is also what makes it worth buying. The Pixel 11 series takes a break from major design overhauls and keeps things very similar to last year’s Pixel lineup. It’s also trying even harder to get more iPhone users to switch, with a new setup experience that can move over your home screen layout, apps, contacts, photos, eSIM, and more.

For the Pixel 11, the cost is pretty much the same as the 10, going up $20. It’s worth noting that the price disparity between the Pixel 10 and 11 looks great, but that’s because it started at 128GB of storage. This is similar to the Pixel 11 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro, which started at 128GB and now go up to 256GB.

There is a lot to like about the Pixel 11 based on this initial introduction: faster wireless charging and a 512GB storage option are appreciated, and the Tensor G6 may well prove a boon to both battery life and camera results. The removal of the 128GB model means the starting price is £100 more than last year, but at least Google has kept the cost of the 256GB version at the same £899 as before.

If you’ve been holding onto a Pixel 9 Pro or older, yes, the Pixel 11 Pro is worth the jump. Google's latest smartphones aren't quite the evolution that fans may have been hoping for. The Tensor G6 hasn't lived up to some expectations, as you'll see in the gaming segment of this comparison. However, the Pixel 11 Pro does boast an all-new camera setup vs the old 10 series, and here's how the photo and video quality stack up against the Samsung S26 Ultra. Let us know which of these phones you'd rather have as your full-time blower below.

Every year, Google uses the Pixel lineup to showcase what is possible on Android and highlight the company’s latest technology. This year’s Pixel 11 Pro tries to do the same, but with the ongoing RAM shortage affecting the industry, the result feels less exciting than in previous years. That is more expensive than last year’s model. Four colours are available: Obsidian, Fog, Olive and Canyon.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro is an interesting device, and in some ways it’s hard to really judge. Google has put all its eggs in the Gemini basket, and it does come at a detriment to other aspects of the phone. This isn’t new for a Pixel, but with the higher price of entry, it does irk. With all that said though, I do still enjoy using a Pixel, and the 11 Pro is no different. It’s a cohesive mix of software and hardware, with a clear objective.

Right now, frankly, this mobile feels like a work in progress. Quite a few of the new features or experiences seem to be either half-baked or buggy. Here's how the Pixel 11 Pro has handled real life this past week, but I'll certainly be returning to it in a month or so to see if the situation has improved. You can see more on how all of that went in a separate video, as there's a lot to say!

These days you can grab yourself a capable mobile gaming device for around half the price of the Pixel 11 Pro, which makes the performance here even more confusing - as does the fact that the 8 Pro, which I recently re-reviewed, was actually better across the board. Call of Duty Mobile played well on this handset thankfully, as you can see from my testing. Although one issue did keep cropping up which somewhat dampened the overall experience.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro is a polished flagship with an excellent camera system, bright compact display, dependable battery life, useful AI features, and seven years of software support. Its faster Night Sight, improved telephoto camera, Magic Capture, and Pixelsnap charging make the strongest impressions, while HiLight feels like promising hardware waiting for better software. At $1,099, there is little reason for Pixel 10 Pro owners to make the jump, and many Pixel 9 Pro users can comfortably wait another year.

Whereas the Pixel 10 lineup felt like a thoughtful mix of helpful features and clean Android software, this time around, evaluating the Pixel 11 Pro is a trickier task. The Pixel 11 Pro XL represents Google’s largest smartphone that doesn’t fold reaching full maturity. The Rambler voice to text tool in particular is great, but UK customers should be irked to know many of the Gemini Intelligence features marketed are US-only at launch. Downsides compared to similarly priced competition are the GPU and gaming performance, which is straight trash, plus charging is still slow and there’s less RAM this year at 12GB in the base model.

Google says this faster chip also helps with computational photography, enabling the new Instant Night Sight and 120x Pro Zoom features (more on those later), as well as powering the Gemini Intelligence AI features on the phone.

Those who prioritise cameras above all will find few alternatives at this price that can match the Pixel 11 Pro XL; the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is better for night photography and the iPhone 17 Pro Max is superior in video recording, but neither achieve such a cohesive quality as the Pixel. Its design doesn't rival the sleek and lighter foldables from other brands, the asymmetrical front appearance looks odd, and the screen crease is still quite obvious. I really want to love it, but the sad fact is that it's a long way behind the competition, and it's just as expensive. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has a slimmer chassis, a shallower crease, a bigger battery, better multitasking, better cameras, and a more powerful processor.

At a glance, not much is new when comparing the Pixel 11 Pro Fold to last year’s 10 Pro Fold. But incremental upgrades to the design, software and AI capabilities help nudge this phone forward. That said, if you’re using the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, those updates likely don’t merit an upgrade — especially since this year’s phone is $100 pricier thanks to the ongoing RAM shortage.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is a generally excellent update, featuring a better, far lighter build and cleaner design elements that make the two-in-one device more appealing than ever. It's got power, efficiency, bright screens, IP68 protection, and oh-so-much Gemini, plus a solid, unified Android interface that just makes sense. Photography is overall good, but Google should have updated the camera experience with more megapixels and maybe somewhat better image processing.

Since the Made by Google event a bit over a week ago, I have been using the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold smartphone as my primary device. I have been using a foldable consistently for months now, aside from a quick S26 review, and they have quickly become my preferred device for everyday use. My first complaint: the name is too damn long. Pick Pro. Pick Fold. Don’t pick both. But that isn’t really important.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold looks gorgeous and feels extremely high quality; it’s packed with genuinely useful features, too. Overall, though, I can’t help but feel it’s behind the times. There have been so many incredible advancements in the foldable space, and none of them are reflected here. Samsung has made great strides: Its foldables have become incredibly slim, with larger batteries than ever, and dramatically reduced crease visibility.

Honestly, I want to like the Pixel 11 Pro Fold — but not like this. It simply feels too underwhelming, especially after testing standout rivals like the Motorola Razr Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. While new AI additions like Rambler, expanded Gemini task automation, and Magic Capture are undeniably neat, the hardware fails to deliver the generational leap I expected. Moving apps between the cover display and the 8-inch main canvas frequently triggers frustrating state refreshes rather than seamless transitions, while orientation switches still suffer from awkward scaling and wasted dead space.

The big issue for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is that while a new chip, faster charging and an upgraded camera are all nice additions, I don't think Google has done enough to entice shoppers that aren't already entrenched in the Pixel ecosystem. HiLight is an interesting idea, but it's not fully built out yet and even when it is, I'm not sure it's the kind of signature feature that will convince first-time foldable buyers to go with Google's phone.

There’s a lot to like about the Pixel 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro XL. MediaTek’s M90 5G modem and the upgraded cameras are welcome improvements. So are the Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL’s brighter screens, and the Pixel 11’s slightly larger battery and faster wireless charging.

I don’t buy into the narrative that thinness is the final word in the quality of a foldable phone, especially when we’re talking about the minute differences that we’ve started to see from the likes of Honor’s Magic V6 and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. I have concerns about the lower battery capacity, too.

79.45%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
