Happy March!

We had a busy, fun month of February with 3 events during the first 2 weeks. Special thanks to the Mortgage Bankers Association for inviting us to do onsite LinkedIn Profile Rapid Reviews at MBASVC25/Dallas and MBACREF25/San Diego. We love what we do and also thank the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association, ESCA, for the opportunity to address their young professionals at the Rising Leaders Summit.

LINKEDIN TIPS AND MORE

NOTE: While we get our content together for an upcoming free webinar for government employees now in transition, the following are tips for ALL job seekers.

TIP 1

Review Your LinkedIn Profile

How long has it been? Time flies, and you will want to ensure your keywords are up to date. Emphasize the most important ones to express your expertise in your profile Headline, About narrative, Skills section, and Experience entries. Remember, no adjectives are needed!

TIP 2

Recommendations

Now is the time to strategically think about Connections that can give you a solid Recommendation to validate your expertise. Try to have a few that are dated within the past 6 months. Start by choosing a couple of people who have worked with you - offer them an unsolicited testimonial and they are likely to reciprocate. Plus, this is a super-nice thing to do, anyway! HOW: Visit their profile & tap MORE next to Message > Choose 'Recommend'.

TIP 3

ID Verification

I know you may have heard of this before... but if you've not enabled it, please do! HR professionals (and most members, too,) will look for this 'checkmark' to confirm you are a real person and not a fake/bot profile.

This takes less than 5 minutes. HOW: Next to the Add Profile Section on your profile > tap More > select Verify ID.
