𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 🏅 Years ago, a simple order came down the chain of command: “𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵.” The officer gathered his soldiers and said only one thing: “If we succeed, everyone gets two bottles of rum.” It was a cold night. No long presentations. No frameworks. No whiteboards full of arrows. The soldiers looked at the outpost, decided to move—and attacked. By morning, the outpost was theirs. When the officer reported back, the senior command asked: “What strategy did you use?” The reply was honest: “Not sure about the strategy. But the outpost is captured.” And that’s a lesson many corporates forget. In boardrooms, we often delay execution in search of the perfect strategy. Decks get refined. Meetings get extended. Decisions get postponed. But here’s the truth: 👉 Not every problem needs a complex strategy. 👉 Some problems need ownership, urgency, and action. 👉 Progress often comes from doing, not debating. Strategy is important—but execution is what creates results. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Most businesses treat the last week of the year as downtime. The best leaders use it differently. They don’t push harder. They tighten clarity. Before January starts, they make sure four signals are clean: • Cash — what’s already committed • Margin — what actually worked this year • Pipeline — what’s real vs hopeful • Execution — where effort paid off (and where it didn’t) When these signals are clear, January becomes decisive instead of reactive. That’s the purpose of a Weekly Commercial Rhythm — not more work, but better direction. Clarity now beats scrambling later.

Interesting observation William J. Ryan that you are seeing leaders rely more on control vs. trust right now. I like the advice in your video for leaders to share the "what" and “why”, and then let their teams determine the “how”.
