India officially joins the UNIDO BRICS Centre for Industrial Competencies (#BCIC)! A significant milestone for BRICS industrial cooperation and enterprise-level collaboration. On 2 February 2026, UNIDO and India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (#DPIIT) signed the BCIC project document, formally welcoming India as a full member alongside China and the Russian Federation. India’s accession reinforces BCIC as the operational platform translating BRICS commitments under the Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution into concrete cooperation focused on industrial competencies, technology partnerships and SME competitiveness.
