Built this stacking cards animation in Framer for an AI Based Website, the client did not want something looking so much like an AI based website and wanted a bit of human touch whilst presenting their service. After 1 year of building AI animation, I still can't fully solve the "AI feel." When we started, I thought it was a technical problem. Better models, higher frame rates, smoother motion — just wait for the tech to catch up. I was wrong. The "AI feel" isn't about resolution or smoothness. Human animators move characters because they understand why the character moves that way. Every frame carries an emotional decision. AI generates frames by pattern-matching against what motion "should" look like. The outputs can look similar. But watch for 30 minutes — and something feels off. So I stopped waiting for the technology to improve. And started asking a different question: Instead of "how do we teach AI to animate with intention" — Can we design stories that work within what AI does naturally? I don't know if this is the right answer. But "wait for the tech to catch up" is a strategy I've let go of. Lately I've found myself thinking about how AI can be included in my workflow as a motion Designer. It's high time I started doing that research and see what is in it for the future.
