In the early days of AI-generated content, the appeal was obvious. It offered speed, efficiency, and scale. You could take a URL, give it a short prompt, and receive a polished blog post or summary in seconds. But while the format was tidy, the content was often hollow. It lacked depth, nuance, and the kind of clarity that only comes from genuine human thinking. Over time, it became clear that the real value of AI in content creation doesn't lie in surface-level repurposing. It lies in its ability to help us capture and make sense of the conversations where real meaning is formed. Not the rehearsed soundbites, but the messy, complex exchanges where people wrestle with ideas, challenge one another, and clarify what matters. These moments filled with tension, vulnerability, disagreement, and insight are where strategy is actually shaped. The difficulty is that most of it gets lost. We move on to the next meeting, the next sprint, the next project. The thinking disappears. That’s where the shift happened for us. We began using AI not to replace content creation, but to preserve and amplify deep conversations. We wanted to find a way to extract real insight from the noise - the kind of insight that drives alignment, meaning, and momentum. This is where 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 comes in. It gives structure to that process. It turns scattered thinking into coherent strategy. It captures the deeper patterns emerging from conversation and transforms them into a clear, usable blueprint. One that teams can align around, customers can connect with, and leaders can make decisions from. The real opportunity isn’t just faster output. It’s deeper clarity. When you consistently turn your most human thinking into shared understanding, you stop guessing. You move forward with purpose. You build not just content, but conviction. And that, more than anything else, is what creates alignment in a world moving too fast to slow down on its own.

Most companies are only scratching the surface with generative AI. In my experience, many organizations are stuck on the first, most basic capability: using it for Information Compression. They're leveraging GenAI as a super-powered search engine or a summarization tool. While useful, that’s just level one. This is exactly why I developed the "Building an AI-First Snack Company" exercise. It's a hands-on approach to helping leaders overcome that initial hurdle, and I'm thrilled that it has now been taught to thousands of executives, enabling them to see the full picture. The real competitive advantage comes from understanding the other four possibilities and empowering your teams to imagine how they can redesign core operations around them. Beyond a better search bar, generative AI is a powerful engine for: 🎨 Content Creation & Synthesis: Instantly generating novel designs, marketing copy, or functional code, moving beyond human bottlenecks. 🔄 Information Transformation: Not just summarizing, but completely restructuring data, translating a complex report into a simple memo, or instantly adapting communications to different audiences. 📈 Simulation & Prediction: Modeling future market scenarios, predicting operational failures before they happen, or simulating new product launches to de-risk investment. 🧠 Complex Reasoning & Problem-Solving: Tackling multi-step strategic challenges, from optimizing a global supply chain to planning a complex market entry strategy. The crucial question for leaders isn't "How can AI make us faster?" It's "How can these new capabilities allow us to operate in ways that were previously impossible?" Link to the exercise is in the first comment. #GenerativeAI #AIStrategy #Leadership #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #BusinessStrategy #Experimentation

"Creativity is core to being human. Generative artificial intelligence (AI)—including powerful large language models (LLMs)—holds promise for humans to be more creative by offering new ideas, or less creative by anchoring on generative AI ideas. We study the causal impact of generative AI ideas on the production of short stories in an online experiment where some writers obtained story ideas from an LLM. We find that access to generative AI ideas causes stories to be evaluated as more creative, better written, and more enjoyable, especially among less creative writers. However, generative AI–enabled stories are more similar to each other than stories by humans alone. These results point to an increase in individual creativity at the risk of losing collective novelty. This dynamic resembles a social dilemma: With generative AI, writers are individually better off, but collectively a narrower scope of novel content is produced. Our results have implications for researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners interested in bolstering creativity." https://lnkd.in/gJpDH2BG

Leveraging AI for content generation is not about replacing human expertise; it's about enhancing it. It's about harnessing technology to amplify your voice in the legal industry. I estimate using generative AI tools to jumpstart my thought leadership content process saves me thousands of dollars annually in time and resources. Both of which I can put to use in other ways to help grow our business. Can you do the same? You absolutely can. Think of AI as your invisible assistant, working tirelessly behind the scenes: AI tools can boost efficiency, handling time-consuming tasks like researching industry trends and drafting outlines. This frees you or your team to focus on the strategic thinking only humans can provide. 💡 AI can ensure your content maintains a consistent tone and style across all platforms. This builds trust and reinforces your firm's brand identity. (Check out the link I shared below for a Forbes article I used to help define my writing style for use across multiple generative AI platforms.) 💡 AI analyzes vast amounts of data to identify emerging topics and audience preferences. This empowers you to create content that resonates and engages. Here's where it gets interesting: With AI, you can tailor your thought leadership content to address specific client needs. AI tools can sift through client inquiries and feedback, highlighting common concerns and questions. ↳ This allows you to produce content that speaks directly to your audience's pain points, positioning your firm as a trusted advisor. Practical application for lawyers? Imagine using AI to draft a white paper on a new legal regulation. The AI tool gathers relevant data, suggests key points, and even proposes a structure. You then validate the information and refine to add your unique insights, ensuring the final product is both authoritative and insightful. By integrating AI into your content strategy, you're not just keeping up with the digital age; you're leading the charge. Embrace the technology, but never lose sight of the human touch that makes your insights invaluable. AI isn't just a tool; it's a partner in your journey to thought leadership. Generative AI is transforming entertainment — and creativity itself. J.P. Morgan’s latest Eye on the Market report captures a massive shift underway. 1. Structural Shift: From Distribution to Creation. The last decade disrupted how we watch content. This decade is disrupting how we create it. - Hollywood produced around 15,000 hours of TV and film in 2023. - YouTube creators uploaded 300 million hours — nearly 20,000 times more. - If just 0.01% of that user-generated content matches Hollywood quality, it doubles total professional output. 2. Democratization of Creativity High-quality production is no longer limited to studios. AI tools like Sora, Runway, and Pika allow anyone to create at a professional level. - Creator-generated video now represents about 25% of all U.S. screen time. - Independent musicians account for 29% of Spotify streams, up from 13% in 2017. - Platforms built entirely on user-generated work, like Roblox, continue to grow rapidly. 3. Open Source Is Closing the Gap The most interesting development: open models are catching up fast. Open-Sora 2.0 achieves near–Sora-level quality at roughly 10% of the training cost. - AI systems are learning real-world physics, improving realism and motion with every iteration. - World-class content creation is becoming accessible to anyone, anywhere. 4. The New Advantage Legacy studios may cut 5–10% of costs through AI-assisted production, but the real shift is toward creators who can make, publish, and monetize faster than ever before. At Picsart, we’re building for that world — empowering millions of creators and businesses to turn imagination into content, and content into connection. The moat isn’t content anymore. It’s creativity at scale.

I’m fortunate to have regular conversations with CMOs, digital leaders, and content strategists across industries. When the topic is content, the discussion almost always circles back to generative AI, along with two critical questions: “What use cases will actually impact my business” and “What will the ROI look like?” Many teams are already running pilots, generating large quantities of content at speed and scale. Yet, focusing solely on creating more content, faster and cheaper, often fails to deliver positive business results—and in some cases, it has the opposite effect. The companies we’ve seen achieve the greatest ROI from generative AI are the ones that take a less-is-more approach, putting content performance at the center of their strategy. Here are a few use cases that stand out: 1. Optimize the Content You Already Have Many organizations have content with strong SEO but limited impact on downstream business outcomes. Generative AI excels at identifying underperforming assets and optimizing them to better resonate with audiences, driving measurable actions and results. 2. Version, Atomize, and Create Derivatives of High-Performing Content Once you’ve identified your best-performing content, AI can help extend its value by creating tailored versions for different segments, personas, regions, or channels without overburdening your creative teams. 3. Focus on Fewer, Higher-Impact Pieces Instead of chasing volume, shift focus to refining and amplifying the content that truly moves the needle. This not only aligns with business goals but also maximizes ROI on your content investments. Demand for content is expected to grow 5x in the coming years. By operationalizing AI with performance as the guiding principle, content teams can deliver better results, enhance efficiency, and free up time for high-value creative work.

Will GenAI displace artists? New research out shows that professional artists are able to make better use of GenAI, signalling complementarity. Big result! These tools, accessible through natural language prompts, have drastically lowered the barrier to creating professional-level text and visual art. While the debate continues about their broader implications, they are undeniably reshaping the relationship between expertise, creativity, and technology. We've seen that GenAI models have demonstrated the capacity to outperform humans in *certain* creative tasks. Some studies have shown AI's potential for creativity, while others highlight humans' edge in imaginative outputs. Despite mixed results, the ability to craft sophisticated outputs with minimal input—AKA "prompt engineering"—has become a skill in itself. Image generation tools, in particular, are seeing rapid adoption among both professionals and amateurs. Artists utilize these tools to explore new styles and improve quality, while hobbyists use them for entertainment or experimental purposes. However, as AI becomes more capable of generating indistinguishable content, there are questions about the future of expertise and the boundaries between professional and amateur creators. Research is beginning to find that professional artists can maintain an edge in using generative AI tools. Their prompts tend to be richer, incorporating specific references to style, genre, or medium, resulting in superior outputs. This underscores the ongoing relevance of traditional artistic knowledge and skills, even in an AI-driven workflow. While generative AI democratizes access to content creation, experts are better equipped to harness its full potential, blending traditional skills with technological fluency. The integration of AI into creative industries has sparked concerns about job displacement and ethical considerations. Studies, such as those by Demirci et al. (2023), reveal significant reductions in freelance job postings for writing and visual arts following the advent of generative AI tools. But if AI adoption is linked to increased artistic productivity and novel outputs, then there's a potential for complementarity and growing the pie. Traditional skills remain foundational, but integrating AI tools into training can enhance creative potential and open new avenues for expression. This blend of traditional and AI-driven methods—referred to as "collaborative intelligence" (Mollick, 2024)—may redefine the future of artistic work. As AI tools continue to integrate into artistic workflows, the balance between traditional skills and technological fluency will determine the evolution of the creative professions. #GenerativeAI #AIArt #CreativeInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence #ArtEducation #DigitalTransformation

There’s no denying that Generative AI has boosted productivity, but at what cost? Increasingly, we’re seeing documents/comments/articles that look complete on the surface but lack depth in their thought processes. During detailed discussion, these outputs often reveal themselves as generated content with little real value. Using GenAI for a first draft is smart—starting from a blank slate is always tough. But the real magic happens when we build on that initial output, adding our own insights and expertise. The key question is: are we using these tools to enhance our thinking, or are we letting them do the thinking for us? The former drives real value; the latter creates fluff. While productivity gains are celebrated, they mean nothing if they aren’t leveraged effectively. The narrative around GenAI’s productivity boost is losing steam because, without thoughtful application, it doesn’t translate into real business impact. Idea behind getting these gains is to utilize that “saved” time for more brainstorming, better solutions, robust strategy and a happy environment. But the blatant use of technology is now creating more debt than assets. Before you adopt any tool, consider this: it can solve problems to a certain extent, but it’s up to you to add value. “Human-in-the-loop” isn’t just a method; it’s a mandate for maintaining quality and connection. If GenAI is capable of automating content creation, try tagging your next blog or article "Made with AI" and see how it resonates with your audience. It was never about generating content but connecting with people. Machines still lack that connection at face value. #ExperienceFromTheField #WrittenByHuman #EditedByAI
