Every great acoustic design starts with understanding how sound behaves — how it reflects, absorbs, and diffuses within a space. This basic drawing explains the fundamentals of room acoustics, showing how surface materials and geometry affect sound quality. Whether it’s an auditorium, studio, or workspace — the goal is always the same: ➡️ Reduce noise ➡️ Enhance clarity ➡️ Create comfort Because good acoustics don’t just happen — they’re engineered. 🛠️🎶 #Acoustics #SoundEngineering #NoiseControl #BuildingAcoustics #AcousticDesign #SoundAbsorption #SoundReflection #Diffusion #ArchitecturalDesign #EngineeringLife #SustainableDesign #HVACNoise #VibrationControl #AcousticConsultant #LearnAcoustics #STC #NRC #ReverberationTime

Located in midtown Atlanta, the control room in Violet Isle’s Studio A was purpose-built to reveal every nuance of sound. WSDG shaped the architecture and design, while REDI Acoustics applied its AI-powered optimization tools to refine the room into a precision instrument. With NIRO, we optimized the geometry and exact placement of speakers and listeners, ensuring a perfectly balanced listening area. With TORA, we fine-tuned the placement and characteristics of the acoustic treatments, controlling reflections and decay for uncompromising clarity. The result is a control room where mixes translate seamlessly beyond these walls, empowering creators to push boundaries with confidence. Violet Isle Studio A is where design, technology, and artistry converge—crafted with pride and with heartfelt thanks to WSDG for the collaboration opportunity. #REDIAcoustics #BehindTheScenes #VioletIsle #StudioDesign #Acoustics #AcousticEngineering #Mixing #Mastering #Atlanta #WSDG

GIK Acoustics has launched a new generation of acoustic treatment panels that combine performance with a "striking" aesthetic. The Amplitude line introduces the company’s new patented recessed plate technology, whereby the plate sits flush with the frame to benefit from a clean visual look. The new product family, distinguished by its bold contemporary patterns, replaces GIK’s long-running Alpha and Impression series. David Shevyn, chief product officer at GIK Acoustics, said: “Our mission with Amplitude was to take everything we’ve learned over the past two decades and push panel design forward. “The recessed plate is not just an aesthetic choice; it also improves the acoustic behaviour of the panel significantly. The result is panels that look striking, but more importantly, give creators and listeners a room they can trust.” Discover more on HiddenWires 👉https://lnkd.in/e-PZMm_7 #AcousticTreatment #PremiumAudio #HomeCinema #LuxuryTech #HiddenWiresNews #CustomInstall

Room acoustics can be the boring part of consulting. It can be so mechanical: square footage in, acoustic material selection, RT60 out. What makes it fun and challenging is figuring out how to make an architect's aesthetic vision come to life without materials that look like acoustical materials. Often, these come out cheaper per square foot and much prettier than projects with budgets for overpriced "acoustic" materials.

Ever noticed how some spaces just naturally feel good to listen in, while others rely on invisible tech to make them sound right? That's the difference between Passive and Active Acoustics! While both aim for optimal sound, their approaches are fundamentally different: one shapes the physical environment, the other manipulates sound waves electronically. Understanding this distinction is crucial for architects, designers, engineers, and anyone building or optimizing a space. This 10-slide carousel dives into the fascinating world of Passive vs. Active Acoustics, exploring how we achieve sonic excellence in diverse environments. Swipe through to discover: 1. The power of materials and geometry. 2. The magic of electronic sound manipulation. 3. Where each approach shines brightest. What's your favorite example of a space with brilliant passive acoustics (like a concert hall)? Share below! #AcousticDesign #PremiumArchitecture #KevinMarioDsouza #SoundAndAbout

ACOUSTIC CALCULATOR Improve the acoustics of your space. Our acoustic calculator serves as an effective tool to evaluate the current acoustic performance of your space and to explore how Focal Point acoustic solutions can enhance it. Begin by assessing the baseline reverberation time (RT60) of your area and select products to mitigate noise and reverberations in just two simple steps. For a deeper understanding of sound management principles, reverberation times, RT60 calculations, and strategies for integrating light and sound, please refer to our Acoustic Design Guide found in the Acoustic Solutions section of our website. https://lnkd.in/gmVZk8fX #AcousticDesign #SoundManagement #AcousticSolutions #InteriorAcoustics #NoiseReduction #AcousticCalculator

🔇 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐱-𝐢𝐧-𝐁𝐨𝐱 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫? In buildings where exceptional sound insulation is a must, like recording studios, cinemas, broadcast facilities, or performance venues, standard construction isn’t enough. To truly control noise, you need to stop it from traveling through all paths: floors, walls, and ceilings. That’s where the box-in-box (BiB) concept comes in. Also known as a room-in-room, this method involves building a fully decoupled inner room, isolated from the surrounding structure. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭? Flanking paths are blocked, sound isolation is maximised, and acoustic performance reaches the highest standards. A full box-in-box system includes: 🔹 𝐈𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 – 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 range 🔹 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 – 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 range 🔹 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬 – 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 range Together, these solutions form a complete system designed to meet the most demanding acoustic requirements. 🔗 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬? Pulse – Houghton Festival 2025 A new permanent installation by EBBA, exploring the resonance of the forest through light, sound, and vibration. Developed with Benni Allan (EBBA) and Kevin Pollard, Pulse translates environmental and spatial audio data into a live composition of light and vibration within the trees. As Lighting Designer and Technical Systems Developer, Oliver Ellmers designed a TouchDesigner control system to integrate spatial audio, lighting, and haptic feedback in real time. The system processes multichannel data from the L-Acoustics L-ISA array and maps it to generative lighting across a suspended LED canopy and haptic transducers embedded in the structure. The result is a responsive environment where light, sound, and physical resonance operate as a single system, evolving in dialogue with the woodland over time.
