Making-of (BTS): 👾"Horizon of the Unknown"👾 Here's a sneak peek of the creative process that brought to life this project completely created inside Unreal Engine for the "Monthly Art Challenge: For The Explorer" (Sep 2025) by The Rookies. Check out the full breakdown (process), images and videos at: •ArtStation: https://lnkd.in/g3-c6XSm •The Rookies: https://lnkd.in/gimXSxV3 The project's main objetive was to create a cinematic composition based on the following question: "Are we alone in the universe?", because this is what we as humans ask ourselves along our lives and this concept shows how "small" we can be or feel in comparison with the rest of the Universe, because we humans know we aren't alone and when we find it out, we'll say "This is the beginning of the Horizon of the Unknown." ---------------------- •Software: Unreal Engine, Blender, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop. •Original idea and concept (based on reference images): Tefo Digital Studio (myself) •Set dressing, lighting, composition and color correction: Tefo Digital Studio (myself) #unrealengine #unrealengine5 #ue #ue5 #unreal #therookies #rookies #monthlyartchallenge #process #bts #making #makingof #creative #scifi #cinematic #render #3d #realtime #color #robot #drone #quixel #camera #composition #horizon

🎮 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 (𝐒𝐑𝐏)! If you’ve ever wished for complete control over how Unity renders your scenes — lighting, shadows, post-processing — then 𝗦𝗥𝗣 (𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲) is your ticket. Unity’s SRP lets you write your own rendering logic, meaning you can define exactly how your game draws each frame. Whether you’re aiming for 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 or 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, SRP gives you the power to build a rendering workflow that fits your vision — and your hardware. 💡 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐑𝐏 𝐬𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥: • 🎨 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 & 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Create your own look and feel beyond built-in pipelines. • ⚡ 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Cut down unnecessary passes and tailor rendering for your platform. • 🧠 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Use 𝗨𝗥𝗣 (Universal Render Pipeline) for cross-platform support or 𝗛𝗗𝗥𝗣 (High Definition Render Pipeline) for high-end visuals. • 🔍 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴 & 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘆: Control render order and optimize draw calls at a low level. 🚀 𝐏𝐫𝐨 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Start with 𝗨𝗥𝗣 — it’s lightweight, well-documented, and perfect for both 2D and 3D projects. Once you’re comfortable, dive deeper and create a 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗥𝗣 for ultimate rendering control. #Unity3D #GameDev #UnityTips #URP #HDRP #Rendering #IndieDev #GameDesign #PerformanceOptimization

🚀 Just wrapped up a high-energy CGI ad concept for Monster Energy — created entirely in Blender, composited in DaVinci Resolve, and enhanced with cinematic effects and audio design. From fluid simulations to dynamic lighting, every frame was designed to capture the power, speed, and intensity that defines the Monster Energy brand ⚡ 🎥 Tools Used: Blender | DaVinci Resolve | Gemini (AI video assist) This project was all about experimenting with realistic splash simulations, motion timing, and impact-driven visuals — pushing my CGI skills closer to commercial-level quality. 👀 Would love your thoughts and feedback — and if you’re a brand or creator looking for bold 3D ads that grab attention, let’s connect! #CGI #Blender3D #VFX #DaVinciResolve #3DAnimation #MonsterEnergy #CGICommercial #MotionDesign #VisualEffects #ProductAnimation

What happens when product designer steps into 3D? ✨ Hello Folks, Over the past few days, I’ve been diving deeper into motion design, this time bringing 3D space into the mix! This project in Adobe After Effects involved tackling a more advanced challenge: integrating 3D objects with nuanced 3D lighting and crafting a dynamic 3D orbital animation. What started as curiosity has turned into a whole new perspective on product storytelling, seeing how even a simple 3D orbit can make an interface or brand feel more alive... I’m still learning every frame, but this marks a small step toward blending product design, motion, and spatial experience... something I’m genuinely excited to master! I’d love to hear how you've been exploring 3D motion in product, interface design or any tips you’d give someone still learning the craft. :) #MotionDesign #3DAnimation #AfterEffects #ProductDesign #LearningByDoing #DesignCommunity #3D #3Ddesign

Character Development Between Blender and Unreal Engine Recently, I’ve been working on improving one of my 3D characters in Blender, and I was really impressed by how much the rigging tools have evolved especially the new mirror and bone setup features that make building a complete skeleton system faster and more accurate. Creating a character itself isn’t necessarily difficult, but it’s a process that requires very precise attention to detail. You almost have to think like an artist ! not just a 3D designer to understand proportions, flow, and movement. I took an existing character (not originally created by me) and started rebuilding its bones and animations to prepare it for use in Unreal Engine. My goal is to achieve smoother, more natural movement and better control over subtle details like finger motion and facial expressions. The connection between Blender and Unreal Engine today is stronger than ever. For anyone who loves combining artistic creativity with technical precision, this workflow is an exciting space to explore and the results are absolutely worth it.

Blender vs Maya: The Ongoing Debate in 3D Animation Every 3D artist has faced the question. Blender or Maya? Both are powerful, but they shine in different ways. Maya has long been the industry standard, known for its robust tools, advanced rigging, and reliability in large-scale studio pipelines. It’s built for precision and integration in professional workflows. Blender, on the other hand, is redefining accessibility. It’s open-source, constantly evolving, and fueled by a passionate global community. With tools like Geometry Nodes, Eevee, and Grease Pencil, Blender proves that innovation doesn’t have to come with a price tag. At the end of the day, it’s not about which software is better — it’s about which one aligns with your creative goals and workflow. 👉 Which one do you prefer for your projects? Blender or Maya? #Blender3D #AutodeskMaya #3DAnimation #MotionGraphics #DesignCommunity #DigitalArt #3DArtists
