#Technology Policy Team Leader Paul Stimers was interviewed about an #executiveorder excluding #NASA from collective bargaining by designating it as primarily an intelligence/national security agency. He noted NASA's longstanding connection to #nationaldefense agencies and initiatives, which has only increased as #spaceexploration has ramped up. https://bit.ly/3UY6QIg #laborunions #nationalsecurity

#Simulation is where reliability and preparedness begin. Last month, Elizabeth Whitaker Lynch of Vedo Systems facilitated the Gateway Simulation Capabilities TIM at the Johnson Space Center, bringing together our Gateway partners, Maxar Technologies and Northrop Grumman, and stakeholders at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Flight Operations Directorate and Gateway Test & Verification, to ensure simulations are ready to support the mission! These technical exchanges lay the foundation for successful integrated simulation and reliable systems. Contact our experts today to discover how we can facilitate similar key technical exchanges for your high-stakes system challenges. https://lnkd.in/eeaijyit #Gateway #NASA #Aerospace #Software #Simulation

NASA Shared Services Center sent out a letter to NASA grantees: "Unfortunately, H.R. 5371 was not passed in the Senate due to unrelated policy demands" and "NASA has reviewed the activities currently being performed under your entity's grant or cooperative agreement, specifically those activities being performed onsite at a NASA installation and have determined those activities to not be an "excepted" activity." https://lnkd.in/eacrXYUB

Planetary defense depends on flawless engineering. During NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission, Vulcan Spring's Hinge Springs helped enabled the continuous power flow needed for communications, operations, and data transmission, right up to the critical moment of impact. By ensuring reliable solar array deployment, our springs assisted in providing the energy that kept the spacecraft on course, supporting a first-of-its-kind mission to deflect an asteroid and protect Earth. ⏩ Two circular objects were filmed by NASA near NSI-1360 during an orbital servicing mission. The footage, only now declassified by Congress, shows the objects maneuvering independently with no visible propulsion. NASA has not offered an explanation, and the video has sparked renewed debate about unidentified objects in orbit - what they are, who they belong to, and why they were so close to a U.S. asset. #Waseem Rehman #Covert Kinetics

On launch day, every element of NASA’s Orion spacecraft has a purpose — and one of the most critical is the Launch Abort System (LAS). This slender tower above Orion’s crew module is built for a powerful mission: protecting astronauts. In the rare event of an emergency, the LAS can activate in milliseconds — separating Orion from its rocket, ensuring a secure path back to Earth. Learn more: https://lmt.co/488D8bk

Sierra Space to Repurpose Dream Chaser’s First Flight as National Security Demonstration Sierra Space has announced a strategic shift for its Dream Chaser spaceplane, transforming its inaugural flight into a demonstration mission that will provide critical data to NASA at no cost while testing capabilities for future national security applications. Scheduled for late 2026, the mission will validate the vehicle’s performance as a reusable, runway-landing spacecraft, with an emphasis on its potential for rapid deployment in defense and intelligence operations. The adaptable, autonomous spaceplane is positioned to support both NASA’s ISS resupply needs and emerging U.S. security requirements in low Earth orbit. #SierraSpace #DreamChaser #Spaceplane #NASA #NationalSecurity #SpaceTechnology #DefenseInSpace #ReusableSpacecraft #Innovation #LEO

🎈🚀 Aerospace Fun Fact 🚀🎈 Did you know NASA once tested a heat shield made out of fabric that inflates like an airbag? 🤯 🔥 In 2006, the Inflatable Reentry Vehicle Experiment (IRVE) proved you don’t always need heavy metal tiles to survive reentry. ✨ Instead, IRVE used layers of advanced fabric, packed tightly for launch, then expanded in space to shield payloads from the fiery plunge back to Earth. 🪐 Future missions could use this tech to safely land larger spacecraft on Mars or return massive payloads home. 👉 Sometimes the boldest aerospace innovation isn’t wings or rockets — it’s a giant space balloon saving the day 🎈✨ 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e-_dhFvx #WhiteEagleAerospace #AerospaceFunFact #NASA #SpaceInnovation #EngineeringMarvel
