Honestly, seeing a deep-tech aerospace company from a city better known for palm trees than rockets becoming one of Europe’s most exciting startups says a lot about where Spain is heading right now. NEWS | A new global network focused on ocean startups is expanding, with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) on April 27 announcing it has joined the World Economic Forum’s “1000 Ocean Startups” program as its first Japanese participant. The initiative aims to help create 1,000 ocean-related startups by 2030 by promoting investment, innovation, and international collaboration. More than 60 organizations, primarily from Europe and the United States, are already part of the network. MOL said its participation builds on its track record of working with ocean-sector startups and engaging in global discussions through the World Economic Forum. Through the program, the company is expected to collaborate with startups, contribute to new ocean-based business development, and take part in international discussions on the environmental impact of offshore technologies.
