The opportunity cost of shotgunning every audition in every genre of voice over is real. Focus on the genre of voice over you book to chase revenue. Doing every audition you get, even when it's not something you excel in, can cause multiple problems in your voice over career. There's nothing wrong with trying new things in VO, but the current state of this industry requires focus and experience. #voiceover #voiceacting #acting

A quick promo #VoiceOver lesson about choosing words to stretch/squeeze to build more direct emotion with the audience. (Note. It also looks like I missed a line of copy in the demo read, don't do that or you'll get fired.) Enjoy! #VoiceOver #acting #recording #promo

Acting is not just about being believable. It is about being meaningful. You are not showing up to perform lines. You are there to entertain and to enlighten. That means you are always saying something. Every character carries a point of view about life. Maybe it is about letting go of control. Maybe it is about choosing love over fear. Maybe it is about transforming pain into something useful. That idea is the engine of the work. When actors miss this, scenes feel flat. When they connect to it, everything sharpens. The objective becomes clearer. The behavior becomes active. The audience leans in because they are not just watching you, they are experiencing something through you. This is where the craft deepens. It is not about pushing emotion. It is about understanding what the story is asking and allowing your body and imagination to express it. If you have a real experience, the audience will have one too. That is the exchange. This is the difference between just acting and actually moving people. It is also what separates a working actor from someone still trying to figure it out. Tom Draper, Acting Coach #actingcoach #actingclass #oncameraacting #chekhovtechnique #actorslife

Had an #acting #coaching client play with a certain line a handful of times, in a row. Then their character started using a new resonance on the line, their vocal technique opened up for the rest of the speech too. Good to hear them discovering new nuance. #ActingCoach #ActingCoaching #voice #vocal
